So i sold a pink PlayStation 2 (Console Only) to a buyer which i believe to have been working.Buyer receives and has the item a number of days before opening a request to return (Claims the item is faulty). I tried to help the buyer as much as i could by offering to replace the item as i have 2 (including the one which i sold) but the buyer wasn't happy. Buyer states that after trying 20 discs the machine damaged all 20 discs and now wants to be compensated outwith eBay to the tune of £47. Buyers already left negative feedback and in the mean time stated that they will be sending a 'Legal Notice' back with the console and that the police have been informed and issued a Crime Reference Number (whether or not this is true i don't know) and to top it off i will be contacted by his/her lawyer within the next 2-12 weeks.
1. I live in Scotland so rules might be different than the rest of the UK.
2. i have at least 2 messages a day calling me childish and other derogatory comments
what do i do?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I think the Police have better things to do, so I would imagine that he is just trying to scare you. Same applies to legal action, can be expensive and no guarantee that he would get anywhere.
What you should have done and can still do is to tell him to open a Not As Described case, you supply a reply paid label and on return you refund in full. Through Ebay that is all he can get. The fact that he is not using the Money Back Guarantee which most buyers would do as soon as one item was scratched, tends to imply that all the other is "Hot Air" and may be just hoping you would refund without wanting back.
You can add him to your Blocked Bidders List and tick to block messages. This will not happen instantly as you have been in a transaction but it will eventually stop his childish behaviour.
Can you not complain to Facebook about his behaviour.

Ask him why he put all those discs in just to get damaged.
