I removed the names I'm not sure if I should have or not?

Yes, you should have. You can't post such information on public forums. If you'd included the names etc, the forum mods would have removed them and given you a slap on the wrist. You can read the forum rules for yourself at the foot of the page.

 

It's a criminal gang trying to get your laptop for free. If you send them your PayPal email addy, you'll receive a fake PayPal payment confirmation email. This well-known scam has been doing the rounds for eons, but is still successful because some sellers don't bother to check their PayPal accounts to see if the money is actually there. Which of course it isn't. 

 

New, occasional and therefore inexperienced sellers of electronics and other valuable items are targeted by these gangs, so thousands of such messages are sent through Ebay every day. There's no way Ebay can deal with them all. Just delete the message, and add the Ebay ID to your Blocked Bidders List.
