hi all i've got a big problem it started saturday all my overseas postage prices disappeared from 80% of my listings, i was on phone to a ebay tech who was getting me to do this and that as i was having trouble adding postage for usa, every time i added usa post it keep putting it in the exculsion zone section that i dont post there, no matter how many times i edited it and unclick them it would just go back in, so we were trying to sort that, after a hour on phone he couldnt fix the problem and made me send him sceen shots of a selling page with the postage showing, and said he go and look into it and will ring me back later that day, that never happened and then i started noticing all my overseas postage charges disapearing, im at a lost with it apart from redoing all 1800 listings ive not got a clue anybody had this happen at all. or know of a fix.

Turning off child safe is not good (its there to keep children safe !) but it also dosn't solve anything as after several minutes the ebay mess , HMTL text and other problems just reappear. Are there any competent technical persons at ebay who can resolve this mess ? You are losing thousands of pounds of business. My screen is all HMTL text . Can't make payments, can't accept offers, can't send messages, and CAN'T CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES !!!!!!!! This is now the third day. Please find a ebay manager who cares and can resolve.

For me adding the domain "ebaystatic.com" to your "Allowed Websites" was enough so you should be able to leave the child safe turned on. I know this worked in my case because when I inspected the web html pages that I was having problems with it was calling scripts on that domain.

You are right though we as sellers may be bothered finding a workaround but will customers!

I contacted eBay yesterday about this and the person I spoke to did not understand what I was trying to tell them, on seeing we are still having problems today I called them again and this time he did understand, I asked him to escalate the issue because we are all losing sales.

Depends on who your broadband provider is but here are the details for Virgin.

Workaround for Virgin Media:-

Log into your "Virgin Media" Account online, select "My Virgin Media" then select "Manage My Web Safe Settings" under "My Packages Broadband"

From the "Web Safe Settings" page select the "Websites" tab, then enter "ebaystatic.com" under the "Allowed Websites" selecting "add", then finally select "Apply".

I don't know if this is the same problem but this started happening on Saturday so may be worth a try:-

If you are on Virgin Media or Talk Talk there is an issue accessing the ebaystatic.com domain (problems displaying ebay web pages and logging in).

Workaround for Virgin Media:-

Log into your "Virgin Media" Account online, select "My Virgin Media" then select "Manage My Web Safe Settings" under "My Packages Broadband"

From the "Web Safe Settings" page select the "Websites" tab, then enter "ebaystatic.com" under the "Allowed Websites" selecting "add", then finally select "Apply".

If this does not work (Warning: This will obviously allow access to porn sites etc so try the above option first) just turn off "Child Safe".

I don't have Talk Talk but I am sure it will be very similar.

Neither are the eBay staff in charge of website development - that's why the site is as bad as it is!

It may not be related as I don't know if the problem is on SKY broadband but the time the problem started seemed to be too much of a coincident.

yes we just did that and added the ebaystatic.com to it check a listing still not showing international postage charges ?

Sorry it didn't work for you but it was worth a shot, you may have to try eBay again I find the response differs depending on who answers the call.

yeh i will ring them again yes your right about how some are helpful and some are just useless. was going to ring them today but i've had enough of it at moment so will do it tomorrow, thank you for all your help its been much appreciated. rick.
