address changed after dispatch

Hi-- I sold a tray-- it took buyer 5 days to pay but I packed and labelled parcel awaiting payment. I posted once payment received. I have now received a not recievied notice. I  have provided the postage tracking number and the noticed the postcode  and name I sent it too--- is now different to the one now on the system. I think details may have been changed in the time between winning and payment.

Whatcan I do?

Thanks

nothing you can do now, apart from refund

in future you must wait for the payment email, as buyers can change the delivery address when they pay.

Address details can't change after an order has been placed.  Are you saying that the adress on the PayPal payment confirmation email is different to that on the Ebay order confirmation email...?  If so, that's perfectly normal. You must always, always ship to the address on the PayPal email - which it seems you didn't do as you had already labelled the package before being paid - as that is the delivery address. The address on the Ebay order confirmation email, which is where it appears you sent it to, is the buyer's Ebay-registered address, and not necessarily where the buyer wants it shipped to. If you look at the Ebay order confirmation, you'll see that it actually tells you that.

As you should only post to the address provided on the Paypal Payment it cannot be changed after payment. Tracked Delivery to that address would have provided all that you would need to avoid having to refund.

I always address soon after selling BUT always check the address when paid which is just as well as many buyers have items sent to another address, friend or relation for example.

Perfectly reasonable to do but can also be used to get a Freebie if seller is not careful.

What does the tracking say? Unless you can prove delivery to the paypal address you will have to refund, and if tracking shows delivery to another address then you would not be able to claim on Royal Mail for loss.
