If you check out the Announcements section of the site and read up on the article published under the heading of "Royal Mail Tracking And Delivery Events On eBay From 1st September 2020" then that should give you an idea as to eBay's reasons for doing this.

With regards to the question as to whether you have to include the eBay code in the buyer's address, the short answer to that is "No".  Just log into your e-mail account and look at the full postal address as supplied on the PayPal confirmation of payment e-mail, then write that name and address onto the parcel.  Once you've taken the parcel up to the Post Office and have posted it out just upload the tracking number relating to that item once you get back home and you're done.  If you do that then both the buyer and eBay will be able to see that you've despatched the item.

As far as the eBay code is concerned, don't worry about it.  You won't pick up a defect on your selling account specifically because you chose not to include the code when you addressed the parcel.
