What is the best delivery company to use. Worried about someone loosing it /stealing it.

My problem: I need to sell an expensive item from my personal collection to make rent this month, but people on Facebook have told me to not use royal mail as they won't compensate me for the loss even if I buy their insurance which is up to a certain amount. I was told the same thing about DPD and Hermes, and UPS and 'especially parcel force.' So I don't know what to do?? Should I try and sell anyway and risk loosing both my item and the money or what???

New at this selling (usually I buy stuff) Looking for some guidance.

You don't give much information bur RoyalMail Special Delivery allows for up to £2500 of cover, but you must conform to all their requirements. They do have a booklet detailing restrictions and prohibited items, but all details can be found on their website.

Most Couriers offer very little compensation and also have a very long list of what they DO NO compensate for. It is up to you to read all T & C whoever you end up using, as Couriers are quite happy to take your money whether or not they provide any protection.

Your other main problem is lack of experience in selling and scammers are quick to pick up on this, and many can be very plausible, but they are just after something for nothing.

I would consider using a GOOD auction house, fees would be high but you would be likely to get paid sooner, although good auctions do not happen overnight, they are planned and catalogues printed and may only be once a fortnight or month.
