I just don't know what to do.

I Was about to complete a sale yesterday but ebay flagged up a problem with a  buyers address which said if  I send it I would not get seller protection etc.. Not sure what was wrong so canceled the order. I later  saw that on the buyers i.d. It says they're from Lithuania but their ebay address in in the UK. The refund didn't work from ebay to paypal for some reason. Also The paypal address is the same. I tried to contact ebay but there's nothing not even chat support. It seems they have abandoned us due to COVID 19. 

I'm **bleep** because I had to cancel yet another sale earlier because I put very clearly No overseas shipping, UK only but a foreign buyer still bidded and won. To make matters worse ebay charged them my UK shipping price. Note: the items are fragile & would be expensive to send abroad.

I'll answer your second question first,

you may have written 'no overseas' postage, but your postage options were:-

Posts to:

Europe, United States, Japan, Canada, Australia

they were charged the UK postage price as that is what YOU had put for postage to that country

so you shouldn't have cancelled the sale, if you don't want to post overseas you have to change the post to options when creating the listing

as for the first question, how did you process the cancellation?

did you use the more action drop down next to the item on your sold page and chose problem with buyers address?

It would help to see what ebay actually said.

Seller protection is so limited it is almost worthless, and apart from doubting that a Courier would provide any cover for the item or value that is your choice. Posting to a UK address is no different to any normal transaction so long as you are paid, so cancelling as probably the wrong thing to do as you may still have to pay a selling fee and get bad feedback.

The second case, NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING, does not prevent bids from overseas BUT unless you provide postage cost to their Country they cannot pay. They certainly cannot pay UK postage unless tedeivery addressis in the UK, which again is not unusual asmany buyershave items sent to a Shipping Centreto be sent on. Again unless you dealt with this correctly you will still pay the fee.

Without knowing exactly what has happened, I cannot see details of sales, payments etc. it is difficult to suggest a helpful solution.

the OP provided postage prices to the countries on his list, it was the same as the UK postage

No I did not I would not know the postage prices for other countries. it was meant to be UK postage only (I send other non breakable things abroad). The buyer asked if the shipping was correct but payed anyway before I had a chance to reply. It was payed via paypal .& the refund went through & I got fees refunded.
the case I canceled was because ebay showed buyers address & a warning in red so did not look safe to send so (I cannot get the message back) Unless I hear from the buyer I'm stuck. I can still sent it because the buyer wasn't refunded but I don't want ebay refunding the buyer after I send it. This is why I realy need ebays direct help. Come on anyone from ebay. I don't know what to do

when you set up the listing you chose postage to the named countries and filled in the postage price the same for the UK and those countries, they could pay, because you had stated a cost to their country, look at the postage and payments tab on the listing, change the country, and you will see what I mean,


as for the other problem, you will have to contact ebay CS, use the help & contact at the top of the page
