I sold an item on the 9th of May, posted it on the 11th of may 2nd signed for as it went for just over £42, I marked it as posted on the 12th with tracking number, it was attemted to be delivered on the 14th of May but the buyer wasn't in so it was taken to their local depot that day and was ready for collection or redelivery but they never did either as I checked on Royal Mail Track & Trace.
It got sent back on Monday15th of June as it had been over 28 days since it had been at the depot and I got it back today 17th of June, what do I do now do I need to contact the buyer and offer refund or offer to redeliver it or leave it and see if they contact me.
Contact your buyer, let them know you have the item back and refund them.
Personally I would not offer the item back to them.
They didn't collect from the P. O. and they haven't been in touch.
DO you need all the hassle again.
As you have both the buyer's money and the item thankfully has made its way back to you, the best way is to message the buyer that you are refunding them, and if they want to purchase the item again , you will be relisting the item for them to buy from eBay if they wish.
Then go right of the item purchased and from More Actions select Cancel this item and select problem with buyer's address. It refunds the buyer advise them the money will go back to original payment source, if they paid with a card its not instant.
