Just had 240 items removed (in varying stages of a 10 day run) and been suspended. Upon deciphering the code and digging it appears i have been done for not clicking dispatched and/or not inputting Tracking info. Never have done either of these things and never been an issue before. Someone somewhere justifying their existence seems to think i'm not sending the stuff out so i have to do all the admin' to prove i am, despite 80 positive feedbacks in a month, no Negative and no INR's. Too daft for words. Very frustrating and upsetting, countless hours of work up in smoke, buyers wondering where the stuff they were interested in has gone. I have to provide proof of delivery/posting and/or feedback (neither of which i thought were compulsory?). As it is the majority of stuff is sent recorded so have spent hours inputting tracking info for items recieved by the buyers already (in some instances3-4 weeks ago). Now i have to provide proof of identity and address. Anyone else experienced or heard of such overkill for non-compliance to non-compulsory admin'? Or am i getting it wrong? Worse than being back at school.
Marking a transaction as dispatched is what you're supposed to do. That's how Ebay then notifies the buyer that their order has been sent. You failed to do that for every single order, you say, so for all Ebay know, your account could have been hacked, hence them asking you for identity proof. I personally would be horrified if they weren't doing their job, not horrified that they are.
Ebay may also believe that you're illegally trading on a private account when you should be registered as a business. So you may want to look into that too. If Ebay has to suspend you again for breaking the rules or the law in some way, your selling days will likely be over for good.
