Hi,
The app says my buyer has purchased and the money is in my paypal. There is no money in my paypal and no record of it. eBay customer service say the transaction has gone through. What do I do? Is there a delay in the money getting into your paypal account?
Thanks.
eBay are currently in the process of moving all sellers, both business and private, across to eBay Managed Payments, so it may be the case that you are on eBay's Managed Payments scheme. If that is indeed the case then you won't receive the money in your PayPal account - eBay will hold onto the money and deduct the necessary fees from the selling price and credit the remainder of the balance to your bank or building society account, which judging from recent posts by sellers who have been moved over to eBay Managed Payments, can sometimes take up to a week, and in some cases, even longer. However, if you had been moved over to eBay Managed Payments then they would probably have asked for your bank/building society details and other information needed in order to set up facilitate payments directly to your own bank or building society account. Therefore, it might be worth contacting eBay Customer Services and asking them specifically whether you are currently still on the old system, in which case the payment should be going straight into your PayPal account, although given that you are a new seller the payment would be held by PayPal for up to three weeks before being made available to you and you would need to claim your first payments if receiving payment via PayPal, otherwise the unclaimed money would be returned to the buyer. If the money is not being transferred to your PayPal account then you need to ascertain from eBay Customer Services whether or not the payment is going directly to eBay Managed Payments, in which case eBay will hold onto the money for a while and pay it into your bank account once they have deducted the fees from the price that the item sold for.
