If you sell an item collection only are you allowed to deliver it yourself

Hi if we sold an item collection only would we be allowed to deliver it or meet half way observing social distancing. It has already been paid for so no money would exchange hands. I've been on various web sites and nothing is specific to private sellers.

From an Ebay point of view, only if the buyer agrees to it.  If they don't agree to it, you must deal with the sale as contracted, ie. the buyer collects from your address.

From a Covid pov, it depends on what tiers you and the buyer are in. The government's website has full information. But frankly, I have no idea why anyone is even considering selling or buying collection items at this time, regardless of what tier they're in. It makes zero sense to me when the Covid police are arresting folk for sitting on a park bench or while taking a walk in a park.

But whatever you do, make sure you accept payment only in cash or by bank transfer, which the buyer pays only once they have fully examined the item and are totally happy with it.  PayPal is not safe for sellers of collection items, as they would have no proof of posting receipt, the only thing a payment provider will accept for an Unauthorised Account Use claim.  Signed invoices etc are not accepted as these are too easily forged. You would lose the item, your money, and be charged a hefty admin fee into the bargain.
