I sold a dvd for £3.70 incl postage and was charged 87p fees using the new Ebay payment management service. This equates to 23.5% !     I was led to believe that using ebay payment service rather than Paypal management service would be more profitable. Can anyone tell me how much i would have received if i had stuck with Paypal and is there a way to switch back to Paypal payment managements ? Thank you.

What do you mean by you 'were led to believe...'? Surely you read the MP information Ebay supplied you with, and did the maths for yourself....?  If not, I'm amazed.  That's the only way to make an informed decision on whether to list or not, or whether to increase your prices or not, or whether it's worth listing certain items here at all.

Ebay's fee is for selling and for payment processing.  In most cases it will be about the same as we were paying Ebay and PayPal combined.  Do the maths for yourself - you've been an ebayer for over 13 years, so must know what you were paying Ebay and PayPal pre-switch.

However, low value items will often be more expensive to sell here than they were before, as we can obviously no longer avail ourselves of PayPal's micropayments account. I did my homework well before I was switched, and removed all my low value items where increasing prices or bundling wasn't viable, and listed them elsewhere.

Managed Payments is mandatory for all sellers, ie. it has replaced PayPal as a payment processor. There is no either/or.  If you're unable or not prepared to adapt, I'm afraid you're only option is to find other venues.
