I don't use eBay much, is it always this useless?

First time I have sold anything on ebay in maybe 10 years.

The first item I have sold and the buyer sent payment to my PayPal on 14th April, PayPal tell me eBay have put a hold on it. I can't find any way of caontacting eBay about this? the help pages go around and around, it won't let me open a ticket in the reslutioon center because it says payment has been made, and the 'contact ebay' link from the resolutin center goes back to the useless help home page.

Half the pages look like they have come straing from the 1990's while others look more modern?

the navigation is appauling, trying to find help is just a joke.

If your account had been hacked and used to sell non existant vehicles, usually about 1700 are listed, you would not be too pleased when you got an invoice for the listing fees of about £20,000.

That is why both ebay and paypal like to make sure that the account is still working properly. It is for your protection as well as the gullible buyers who pay large sums of money on the promise that the "car" they have bought, sight unseen, will be delivered to them and if they don't like it, it will be collected and their money refunded. They actually believe this rubbish.

I appreciate your point of view, but if my eBay account yet been breached and used to sell a hack car for example, how is holding the money in escrow going to help?

The buyer has paid, eBay have the money but don't release it to PayPal. I haven't been charged sellers fees yet, presumably until the money is released?

The PayPal account is an establish, trusted one, PayPal 'know me' and know I'm a valid user.

The purchase is protected under the eBay protection guarantee i presume (though I've never read it)

If I were a n imposter, I'd have to get the money out of a trusted PayPal account. If I had using access to both PayPal and eBay I could just take money direct from PayPal without needed to fake a sale.

I just don't see the security this offers past 3 days of sale?

Again, I appreciate you're not employees at eBay, or even representing them. I'm just frustrated that I can't get any help from eBay.

This is a company who I'm meant to be helping promote in its high Street revival campaign, how I can promote a service as poor add this?

I think you will find you have been charged fees, go to your account to see them there ( not payable yet though)
