I don't use eBay much, is it always this useless?

First time I have sold anything on ebay in maybe 10 years.

The first item I have sold and the buyer sent payment to my PayPal on 14th April, PayPal tell me eBay have put a hold on it. I can't find any way of caontacting eBay about this? the help pages go around and around, it won't let me open a ticket in the reslutioon center because it says payment has been made, and the 'contact ebay' link from the resolutin center goes back to the useless help home page.

Half the pages look like they have come straing from the 1990's while others look more modern?

the navigation is appauling, trying to find help is just a joke.

Is eBay always this **bleep**?

You may think eBay is a joke ands useless,  but it is Paypal that have a 21 day hold on monies from sales,  if a seller has not used thier account for as long as you have .

After 10 years and sudden activity,  it raises red flags to both Companies,  many dormant accounts are hijacked,  so they need to know you are srtill the account holder.  It's for  your protection as much as for the buyer.

They need to know the item will be posted out,  if not,  they have the money to refund the buyer.

Tracking proving delivery,  good feedback received,  will realese the money within 4 to 7 days.

Do eBay staff ever monitor these forums?

On my PayPal account (which I used very regularly) the payment has the 'On Hold' comment "eBay has requested that the money from your sales be put on hold"

I get that if I don't use the eBay account they want to do some extra checks, but that fact that it is sending money to a PayPal account that is used probably a few times a week should be enough? I use my PayPal account to accept business payments (it's a business account) so I get payments from new contacts often, and they rarely get put on hold?

Also, I added the tracking information so and eBay listing shows the package as delivered, the buyer is a known buyer, so I don't see where the 'security' issue is?
I also get that eBay make money from eschewing and the longer they hold onto a payment, the more interest they can get from it, but you have to admit that's petty poor.

But for the help service - does anyone have any contact information? the call back is offline during covid (because the help team cant call from home??) the're is apparently no email form or any way to raise an issue apart from the resolution centre that refuses to open the ticket. It took me at least 10 minutes to find the information on eBay that they payment was going to be put on hold, it said for 5 days, but each time I find my way back there, it's still saying 'for 5 days', it's been saying that since the 14th April?

I don't really expect an answer or a solution to my issue here. but as eBay are putting up as many walls as possible to my contact them about it, this was my only option.

Regrettably I have another sale on eBay to wade through now.

Nothing to call eBay about, and they do not answer emails. Phone lines are down becasue of the Covid crisis, reduced staff levels.

As I explained above, if you receive good feedback, and tracking has shown delivery, then money will be released between 4 - 7 days After the item's last estimated date for delivery. If not , then call Paypal, they are very helpful there in Paypal Towers.

One more thing to check, click on the item sold, click on sell similar scroll down the listing to the emial addres listed there make sure it is 100% correct, down to the last dot, that too, can hold up a payment if incorrectly registered.

If your payment is showing as "ebay hold" you will have to contact ebay for it to be released,Paypal cannot release the payment without ebay sayso.
