How long do payment disputes normaly take

How long do payment disputes take, I have one that has lasted 2 weeks so far, I can give definite guarantees that the item was delivered nearly a month ago and have had discussions with the buyer about various items, he was delighted to receive the items, so why is it still going on, I think that not having money put into my bank account by eBay is caused by this dispute, I have closed my shop because of the marvelous new system bought in by the marvelous eBay people, they must be making a fortune.

You say - "The buyer is saying that he does not recognise the sale," 

That is an unauthorised chargback and if the buyer is now saying they do recognise the sale its up to them to withdraw their claim.

The only way a seller can defend such a claim is to prove they posted to the address PayPal gave them.

I give up, I have lost £155 to PayPal, no dought due to the virus they will say, I will start again next year...possibly,

are you saying you didn't send to the address given by paypal when the item was paid for?

It was sent via UPS, I even have the exact time it was delivered in the USA, to the exact address I was given. The problem is that the buyer has paid the money, I have received the money (apart from Paypals £50!!!) so why the payment dispute and the failure to get the other money I am owed, is still going, I fail to understand.

I received £272-01 on the 22nd/9th so Paypal took 47.99, presumably because it was a sale on eBay

so, you've received the payment, minus paypals fees for processing the payment,

so what is the problem?

The £155 is the amount I made for five sales two weeks ago, this has still not reached my bank account, when it went into my PayPal account it was usually there within minutes, that is why I am giving up selling untill next year, I know a number of other sellers who are thinking of doing the same thing, hopeing that the wonderfull Ebay system will be worked out by then.

has ebay moved you over to managed payments?

if so, the £155 didn't go to your paypal account, it has been sent to the bank account you specified when you completed the sign up to managed payments


if you aren't on managed payments what does it say next to the payments in your paypal account?

Yes, I have been moved over to managed payments and no it has not been put into my bank account, that's why I am stopping.

you need to contact ebay and sort this out,


it has nothing to do with paypal or the previous sale

you just haven't set up your bank to receive payments properly,


contact ebay CS,

do NOT mention paypal or the previous problem, as this will just confuse them!


just state you haven't received the payments and get them to check what bank account they are being sent to.

was the disputed amount a paypal payment or an ebay managed payment?

It was a payment for sales from my shop, so it should have been an ebay managed payment

you have muddied the waters so much with giving incorrect information, it is no wonder you have decided to give up!


can you start from the beginning and tell us exactly what has happened,

was it a managed payment?

what case has the buyer opened?

what has ebay said about the case?
