Hi. Hope someone can help. I sold an item which the buyer opened INR case on. Royal Mail showed no one was in when they tried to deliver. The buyer said there was someone home and they hadn,t had a card through the door either. I organised online for redelivery and it now show item as delivered.
The buyer has not responded to my request to close the case now so how long do I wait before eBay close the case and will it close in my favour now it shows as delivered. Never had this happen before and obviously PayPal are also holding the payment.
than you for any help given.
If you want to expedite the closure of the case in your favour then contact eBay Customer Services by clicking on the Help & Contact link found at both the top and the bottom of this page. When the next page loads up scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the mobile phone icon where it says "Need more help? Have us call you." You should receive a phone call from eBay shortly afterwards, at which point provide the eBay representative with the item listing number so that he/she knows which transaction you are referring to. Explain to the eBay representative that you have an Item Not Received case currently open against you, but the tracking shows that the item has been delivered. As the eBay representative to check the tracking number and have a look at the proof of delivery for himself/herself. Once eBay see that the item has been successfully delivered they ought to close the case in your favour, the end result being that the buyer will not be able to leave you any negative feedback in relation to the transaction once the case has been closed. I actually did this myself previously when somebody opened an Item Not Received case on me and I was able to prove that the item had been successfully delivered to the address on the PayPal payment confirmation e-mail, so if you give it a shot and can actually get through to eBay Customer Service then you ought to be able to get the case decided in your favour sooner than if you were to just allow the case to run out of time and close automatically.
Finally, if you have not already done so, make sure that you add this buyer's User ID to your Blocked Bidders List sot that he/she cannot purchase anything else from you in the future and cause you any further problems.
The case will auto-close after 30 days (and in your favour), if the tracking number attached to the transaction (and which I assume is therefore included in the case details) doesn't trigger case-closure sooner.
An INR case will only close in the buyer's favour if they escalate it to Ebay before it can close, and if tracking does not prove delivery at that time.
