How do I send a refund directly to a buyer
Why? It is up to the buyer to open a Case using the Money Back Guarantee.As you make no mention of returning an item, I assume it is an item not received.
The buyer goes to MORE ACTIONS and selects "Item Not Received" opens a case, and you refund through the case within 3 days. That gets your selling fee refunded and no Defect.
If that is the case you then claim for loss on Royal Mail using your proof of postage, or on whatever courier you used and hope you have some cover with them.
Only Royal Mail has a good claims procedure which can be completed on line or using a claim form available at any post office.
