You appear to have had a long break from selling, which could mean that you need to update something that has changed since you last sold, OR more likely ebay need you to re-verify your account.

In active Selling Accounts have on many occasions been hacked and ebay needs to check that you are still in control and that it is not a hacker/scammer.

Aside from the fact that eBay has been very glitchy recently, if you were using the basic selling template then switch to the Advanced Selling Template, sometimes referred to as the Business Listing Tool, and list your item using that template instead.  Ignore any of eBay's blurb about the Advanced Selling Form only being suitable for business users - anybody can use it, and you won't end up with sanctions being imposed on your account just for choosing to list an item with the Advanced Selling Form.

In the event that you're already listing your items using the Advanced Selling Form then list one item only for the time being, but rather than set the advert up to go live straightaway schedule the listing to go live at another time and date.  When the listing shows up in your Scheduled Items section preview the listing by clicking on it and check to see whether the item description shows up.  If it does then it may well have been a temporary glitch - if not then click on the Revise Listing option and see if it shows up that way.  If it doesn't then delete the listing before it goes live.

Should you end up leaving the scheduled listing for too long and it goes live then click on the advert and check it out.  If the item description is showing up by that point then it may just have been down to a temporary glitch; however, if there is still no sign of the item description when the listing goes live then end the listing, citing "Error In Listing" as the reason why.  If there are bids on the item by that point then cancel the bids first prior to ending the listing.
