On November 30, I sent a parcel to the winner of my bidding.
The last update on the tracking number is December 4th (Delay - please allow 24 hours).
Since then I have not been able to find out what is happening with the package. Hermes only has an automatic customer contact system. All I can hear is they are working hard to get my package delivered. During this time, I had to give the money back to the buyer because he gave up the longer waiting for delivery. Today I don't have my item, £ 70 has been taken from my account for refoud.
I cannot communicate with Hermes. You cannot talk to a human in Hermes, nobody replies to your emails. Is there any way to make a complaint or should I give up and think I've lost 70 pounds. I will also add that I have purchased additional shipping insurance.
I'm disappointed.
Can someone give me good advice?
thank you
Your comments are spot-on. I had precisley the same experience last November with a small parcel to Germany from UK.
Hermes don't even reply to letters to their Operations director. Really disgustingly ignorant. I now avoid Packlink
Why do eBay use them as all they do is annoy the customers.
Search Daily Mail for their opinions
Now that you've refunded the buyer, you lodge a claim for loss in transit with Hermes (or with Packlink if you bought the postage on Ebay, as that is who you paid and who your contract is therefore with) to recover your loss. You don't need to speak with a human to do that - you simply fill in a claim form.
If Hermes or Packlink deem that the package has not been lost but simply delayed, and it's subsequently delivered to your buyer, send the buyer a PayPal invoice so that they can repay you. Or ask then to send you a bank transfer (give them your sort code and account number), or to send a cheque or crossed postal order in the post, so that you don't incur any further PayPal fees.
