Has anybody started to sell on "Onbuy" in the UK because of eBay's stupid "Managed Payments"

Are sellers signing up to "Managed Payments" that eBay are dictating that we should do or they will limit our accounts ?

They have already stopped me from listing new items because I refuse to sign up.

Also, I've heard that you don't get paid for 2 - 5 days & I'm afraid if I'm forced to sign up, I won't post any goods till I've been paid.

Even if sellers have moved to another site, we can't comment, unless we want to be banned from ebay.

All businesses are subjected to a slight delay in receiving payments made by credit or debit card.

My bricks and mortar shops had a 60 day delay before the funds were released to us by the merchant.

Managed payments doesn't mean you haven't been paid, it just means that the buyer has paid eBay, eBay will pay you.

It takes two working days usually for the funds to be sent to your bank, that's incredible in the real world.

PayPal pay sellers instantly because, in most cases, they advanced the funds to sellers on behalf of buyers whilst they processed the payments.

Any semi regular business will only notice any difference for the first week of trading - managed payments is a safer way to be paid than PayPal was for lots of reasons.

Don't forget, eBay owned PayPal, they moulded the business to suit their needs, they're doing exactly the same thing again with managed payments - the only real difference is the buyer has far fewer ways of trying to scam you.

If you're genuinely concerned by a two working day delay then simply adjust your dispatch times to reflect that but don't mention in the listing why you're doing it.
