Is there a way to find out about delivery estimate times given to the customer when they place an order? Thanks in advance .
Given the fact that there are a lot of postal delays owing to the fact that it is the Post Office's busiest time of the year at present, not to mention the disruption caused to postal services by the coronavirus, I would advise you to extend your despatch times so as to give yourself some extra stoppage time if the item gets delayed in transit, whilst ensuring that you still make a point of despatching any sold items as quickly as possilbe after payment has been made. If you do that then the extended despatch time will increase the length of time that the buyer has to wait before he/she can open an Item Not Received case, as the buyer can only do this once the latest estimated date of delivery has passed, but if you've allowed for delays by extending your despatch times and still manage to get the items to your buyers before the latest estimated date of delivery then it should significantly reduce the risk of buyers opening Item Not Received cases against you.
In the event that a buyer does open an Item Not Received case against you then so long as you have posted the item via a fully tracked means of postage and can prove with the tracking number that the item was successfully delivered to the address provided on the PayPal confirmation of payment e-mail the buyer would lose the case and you would get to keep the money from the transaction. PayPal would also decide the matter in your favour should the buyer try to open a case there instead, so make sure that you send your items out via a fully tracked postal service as it tends to act as a deterrent to scammers who may otherwise try to open an unjustified Item Not Received case if the item had been sent via a non-tracked means of postage.
