Cannot relist ended auction items as buy it now as were auto-relists - help!

Several of my items which were auctions with auto-relist. Sellers Hub says I can change them to buy-it-now. When I have edited I cannot relist because "item scheduled for auto-relist". They have ENDED. Even taking a copy makes no difference.

I also edited some listings and unticked the auto-relist box. After relisting they still auto-relisted.

Without copyng and pasting each field into a buy-it-now listing is there a workaround?

Also, how do I stop an item relisting?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

I think "Sell Similar" solves the problem. I am still interested if anyone know the logic behind refusing to let you relist an ended auction item as buy it now, and why you cannot cancel auto-relist, if anyone knows.

If you use the Seller Hub, unsold items will still appear and you can edit an unsold by using list similar item and then edit the details to convert from a BIN to an Auction.

Using the seller hub puts you in control  of listings again.

It may seem like a bit of a pain in the neck to have to start all over again, but first of all open a new template using the Advanced Selling Form, sometimes referred to as the Business Listing Tool.  If you do that you will have more control over your listings.  Ignore any warnings from eBay that the Advanced Selling Form is for business sellers only - anybody can use it and you will not be penalised for using the Advanced Selling Form to advertise your items for sale on eBay.

Once you've pulled up the Advanced Selling Form upload the shots to the listing, then copy the text from the old listing and paste it into the area where you would otherwise have to type everything manually.  Make sure that the "Automatically Relist This Item If It Does Not Sell" box is deactivated.  If you do not want your unsold items to automatically relist then do not set the up as Buy It Now listings, as eBay spoiled the Buy It Now format a few years back and they're now effectively Good 'Til Cancelled listings by another name, as Buy It Now listings only end if the item sells, the buyer chooses to withdraw the listing or eBay pull the listing from the site if it breaches listing rules for some reason.  However, if you set your listings up using the Auction format, with the start price set at the amount that you would have put as the Buy It Now price if you'd listed the item using the Buy It Now format, then so long as you get a bid and the bidder pays you'll get the price that you wanted for the item.  If it attracts a lot of interest and a lot of people end up placing bids for the item then you could end up making quite a bit more from the sale of the item than you had originally anticipated.

As soon as you have filled in all of the Item Specifics and have finished preparing the advert schedule it to go live at a later date and time.  We'll come back to this a bit later on, so bear with me for now.

Once you have scheduled the listing go back to your live listings and locate the item in question that the new listing is due to replace.  Pull up the drop-down list to the right of the item and click on the option to end the listing, selecting "Error In Listing" as the reason why.  The listing will then be removed from the site.

At this point go back to the listing created using the Advanced Selling Form and pull up the drop-down menu to the right of the listing.  Click on the option to revise the listing.  Once you've got the template back up on the screen again click on the option to have the item go live as soon as you click on the button to submit the listing.  You'll need to delete the date and time you originally put in and untick the Schedule box before you can switch it to go live straightaway; however, once you have done this just submit the revised version of the listing and it ought to go live straightaway, although it may take some time to appear in the search results.

Finally, when you're setting up your first listing using the Advanced Selling Form remember to save it as a template for any other similar items that you may list for sale in the future.  That way all of the information in the first listing will be automatically carried over to any subsequent listings, including things such as the postage and packing options, countries you do and do not post to, etc, and all you need to do when you use the template to set up a new listing is to delete the original shots and item description and replace the shots with new photos taken of the latest item being listed for sale.  Enter an item description written specifically for the latest item you're listing for sale, then once you're done you can list the latest item for sale.  So long as you only list in Auction format and  you have not activated the option on template to automatically relist the item again if it doesn't sell the listing will remain in your Unsold Items folder if you still haven't found a buyer by the time the auction ends, and it won't relist again unless you decide to relist it manually.
