This is the start of a SCAM
As they have purchased the item all they need to do is pay for it through the listing. Basically click on pay for it.
Do NOT send them your Paypal details. The way the scam works is.......you send them your Paypal details through a message and they send you a FAKE but very real looking Paypal notification that you have been paid when you have NOT.
Unfortunately scammers look for inexperienced new selling members like you 😞
One thing that will draw a scammer to your expensive listings are..............you have the wrong postage on your watch. It MUST be sent by Next Day Special Delivery and you must check out Royal Mails site regarding posting very expensive items to make sure you are covered should it get lost or damaged in the post. Sending it just be Royal mail signed for will not protect you. Royal Mail will probably refuse to compensate you because they will say...sorry you sent it by the wrong postal method:(
Just ignore this buyer......and if they do not pay through the listing within 2 days open an unpaid case in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of the page. Follow all the instructions carefully and close the case on day 5. Doing this means that you will get your Ebay fees refunded.
Also add this Buyer to your blocked bidder list. If you do not know how to do this then go to the help and contact tab at the top of the page and search block a bidder and all the info and link will come up.
Do not trust any buyer that says......i need your Paypal details because i am having trouble with my own paypal account.
Also BEFORE you even think about posting that watch you MUST sign into your actual Paypal account and check that the payment is there and the actual status of the payment and look to see if Paypal tell you its ok to post.
Scammers often try to take advantage of new members inexperience........by sending them a fake notification...hoping they will just post the item without checking in their own Paypal account. Unfortunately this does sometimes work and a seller ends up with no watch....no money and the scammer is long gone.
Well done you for coming to the boards for advice. Oh i forgot.....you must only send the watch to the address given to you on Paypal check out otherwise you will lose what little seller protection you have on Ebay. Do NOT believe a buyer if they say something like....please send the item to Nigeria as its a present for a relative. Again this is all part of a well known scam on Ebay.
Sorry for the long post but you MUST try and protect yourself on Ebay as much as you can .
