BUYER WON BID AND ASKS TO KEEP THE PRODUCT

Hello to the whole community!

Last week a buyer won a bid but didn't rush to pay. Obviously I sent him a payment reminder after a day, and then a message asking him if he needs the item or not. He then replied if I could keep the item for him because he'll pay later but never mentioned when. Did you go through something similar? What would you recommend? I agreed to keep the product but for how long? After keeping the product for a week can he change his mind for not purchasing anymore?

Thank you!

It's up to you but don't let them string you along for too long.   I wouldn't contact them or reply again.  Start an Unpaid Item case  and if they still don't pay close it after 4 complete days to end transaction and get your fee back from ebay.

As the buyer has given you zero indication of when he intends to pay, and you have apparently given him zero indication of when he needs to pay by, I would advise you to send him a final message, telling him he has until x date to pay, or you will have to open an Unpaid Item case in order to get the Ebay selling fee credited back to your account.

If you decide to wait, don't wait too long. You have only 32 days from purchase in which to open an Unpaid Item case and get the selling fee credited back to your Ebay account.

Ebay can't make a buyer pay, which is why they allow sellers to open Unpaid Item cases. You also have the option to add the buyer's Ebay ID to your Blocked Bidders List so he can't darken your doorway again.

Add buyer to your blocked bidders list and set your buyer preferences to Block Bidders with two or more unpaid strikes.

You have paid a selling fee, until you complete an unpaid case you will not get it refunded.
