A buyer has challenged the accuracy of a listing. Proof was sent to ebay that the listing is accurate. Now eBay has declined to intervene stating that the buyers comment always stand. I  asked why did eBay ask for evediece if they are not prepared to consider it? When I asked for the actual wording of their policy on such matters the call centre guy gasped and said he would ask a superviser to call me. l'm still waitng!

It appears this seller is not happy with my comment about used cosmetics and seems to think it's perfectly legit for a seller to list them.

So for her clarification this is from the eBay banned items for sale.

• Listings for used cosmetics, sponges, or applicators are not allowed. This includes products such as skin moisturisers, sunscreens, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail polishes, eye and facial makeup preparations, shampoos, permanent waves, hair colours, toothpastes, and deodorants.

You still don't say who you are and what your motives are and you still don't answer the questions.

I'm a eBay member like you and all the others.. It's hypocrisy to break eBay seller rules whilst complaining about eBay not looking after sellers.

You are totally ignoring my original question and seem to be transfixed on cosmetics. Here goes, once I was able to prove the item I sold was authentic the buyer accepted and the case was closed. eBay would not back the seller even though evidence was clear, they will ALWAYS back the buyer. It was NOT I repeat NOT anything to do with cosmetics. On the subject of cosmetics, thousands of people are extremely happy to receive foundations and other items at a much much lower price, some it gives them a chance to try without having to pay extortionate prices, others are able to buy items which have been discontinued, so please stop your emails they are not helpful to me and finally, there is NOT a used option when listing an item.

I fail to understand your post regarding used cosmetics.
The reason you cannot use a correct item specific is quite simple.

eBay do not allow used cosmetics to be listed. It is on the prohibited items which I displayed on my previous post.

I was merely pointing out that by listing banned products you were risking the removal of these items and continued policy breaches could result in permanent closure of your eBay account.

It was intended to be friendly advice given in case you were not aware of the eBay user agreement..
