I've seen there is another £1 mas selling fees weekend coming up - the third in a row that I've been unable to participate in.
When I follow the link I'm told the offer has already expired, so it must be by invite only.
I've never had this issue in the past, I've been accepted into these offers numerous times a year.
With this now being the third in a row I've not - just wondered if there is any way to improve your chances of actually being invited?
I've got things to sell, but I refuse to lose £20 in fees.
completely random and nothing you can do to increase your chances
Personally I've found that I've received more £1.00 Maximum Selling Fee offers from eBay since I gave up selling on the site than I ever did when I was actively selling items on eBay. Although many people on these forums say that it is completely random as to who does and does not receive the offer I only partially agree with this theory, as my own opinion is that the £1.00 Maximum Selling Fee offer is, to a certain extent, targeted at users who are registered as sellers but who have not sold anything on eBay for a while, the end result being that eBay subsequently try to tempt them back into selling on the site again in order to increase their revenue from sales that they're currently losing out on as a result of those sellers having given up selling on eBay.
In addition to the above I would also say that eBay deliberately target sellers who, although actively selling on the site, are not listing items for sale as often as eBay would prefer them to, thus eBay decide to offer them the £1.00 Maximum Selling Fee offer for a similar reason to the one given above - ie: in order to tempt them into relisting more frequently, thus generating more revenue for eBay in sales. I also feel that if a seller is already listing items for sale on a regular basis then there is no incentive for eBay to offer them the £1.00 Maximum Selling Fee, as if they're listing a lot of items regardless of not receiving the offer then eBay will just sit back and allow them to list their items without offering any discounted selling fees, as it would appear that sellers of that nature don't need any encouragement to sell more items on eBay and eBay can continue to make as much money as possible out of them without having to tempt them to sell on the site with discounted selling fees.
Know how you feel, nothing for over a month now...always used to be at least every two weeks.
I won't list much at their whopping 10% fees, so Ebay are actually /losing/ income by not offering us promotional fees.
