I recently sold a couple of action figures to a buyer from USA. I sent it via GSP. The figures have been graded, so they are sealed in an acryllic box, so theres obviously no way of me securing the inside, only the outside.
I packaged them really well, so they didn't arrive damaged. Unfortunately, the head of one of the figures, has swivelled to one side a little bit.
The seller has now requested to keep one figure but return the figure that the head has moved. I understand that its not any fault of the buyer, nor was there anything more I could of done to get it there safely. Since no one is at fault.
Can I ask if I have any say in this or will ebay just side with the buyer?
Thanks for any advice.

You could ask him to repeatedly tap the box and the head might move back. If not and he has actually opened a "not as described" return it's probably best to accept it. eBay do tend to side with buyers as the system is more or less automatic unless you want to get involved with an appeal.

Thanks for the reply. I have asked them to tap the case, they say its not doing anything. Really frustrating. I wont be selling internationally again.

Aren't these figures articulated at the neck, waist and arms so that you can create different poses ? If so what is your customer's complaint - they don't like the pose ? They can change the pose to whatever they want by opening the box or leave it as it is by not opening the box.
This seems like a poor excuse to claim the figure is not as described ! Even if the photo showed it in a different pose - They are designed to be adjustable - if anything it proves the articulation works !
What might be a risky idea is to explain this to the customer politely and then if he still wants to return the one figure, suggest he returns both figures if they were listed together as one sale and hope they want to keep one more than they want to return both ?

The buyer needs to open an item not as described case for the damaged one. Making sure that they choose 'arrived damaged'.
Once the case is open, you will need to call CS and ensure that they know that the item was sent through the GSP.
You should be fully protected with any damage caused by transit as you sent them to the hub and the case should be closed with they buyer being refunded at no cost to you.

@cobwebcottage Great advice. Anything sent via GSP is usually covered for damage in transit.
