Why have eBay made the area box in My messages smaller

What do we gain by it, I Find it more difficult to write messages in it, so what I have to do is write what I need to write and copy and paste into my message box in  microsoft word 

Sometimes eBay think they are smart, but instead of making it easier, it makes it harder, or am I the only one who does not like this alteration in the area message box,

Move your cursor to the bottom right hand corner of the message box where you will observe two diagonal lines. When your cursor arrow changes to the upwards-and-downwards looking arrow simply left click and drag down.

I think the way it renders is browser specific. Some browser will allow a resize, others won't.

I've just tested within Chrome and if I write a longer message, it essentially makes the box one line bigger. So all you need to do is type and the box will resize. This could have been a recent update as it looks like ebay are tweaking the messages system to improve.

Click the symbol and drag... should be available whatever you're using to browse I would think.
