Tried to list a German Naval Clock from WW2.It was removed as Ebay said it prohibits Nazi Holocaust Related Items.Checked then on Ebay UK and Ebay have a "Nazi Militaria" Category with 6800 items currently listed. These include Nazi Officer Photos,Uniforms,Propoganda Leaflets etc, etc. Took this up with Customer Support. Said that I should report these 6800 infringements.I told them their people must be asleep and WHY did they have a Nazi Militaria category if it was prohibited to start with.Agent couldn't answer. Told them about time they employed people with COMMON SENSE instead of Ai robots.

Hello,Just went back onto Ebay uk and entered in search "Nazi". 85,000 items came up. When I found the Militaria listing earlier, must have been a sub-branch. So Nazi items have now grown from 6800 to 85000,and Nazi is prohibited?

Just received this from Ebay.Rejected my appeal. They say that Nazi items must be photographed from all angles etc. so this must apply to all 85,000 listings found when searching "Nazi" on Ebay uk. See image attached.

By the way, this is an image of my Prohibited German Navy WW2 clock.I put 10 clear images on my advert and a 3mm swastika was covered by one of the hands.

"Checked then on Ebay UK and Ebay have a "Nazi Militaria" Category with 6800 items currently listed" - eBay have never had a 'Nazi Militaria' category, nor sub-category; certainly not in the near 20 years I have been selling here.
Your clock was probably removed under eBay's Offensive materials policy, which prohibits listings or content that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination; probably under one of the following sections:
To sell in this area of history you must be aware of what is allowed and what is not. This is further complicated if selling internationally where some countries have laws not only banning certain, items, symbols and topics; in addition to banned book titles and authors.
Getting back to your military clock; are you certain it was not displaying any symbols specific to the Nazi regime at the time? Even the display of an SS rune (also known as pseudo-runes) are defined and recognised as symbols of hate and will be enough to have the listing removed.
It is a complex area in which to sell, and even being aware of the rules I have fallen foul of this policy; recently having had a book removed which had a small pseudo-rune on the cover which I had overlooked at the time of photographing the book. This is not to say that eBay also don't get it wrong at times, it is understandable in such a sensitive area where they have to err on the safe side. I have also had listings incorrectly removed; you just have to live with it.
The word 'Nazi' in a listing title will not get a listing banned - thousands of historical books have the word in their title. It is the context to how the word is used which will draw attention to it. A quick check of listings using the word indicate the majority to be books, stamps, coins etc. This does not define them as Nazi Militaria or Memorabilia.

Searching "Nazi" on Ebay UK brings up 85,000 items.Yes,some of them are books or stamps but on the first page alone are several swastikas, photos of uniformed officers etc..Also,several items under the general heading Collectibles,do appear to bear the Militaria tag.Maybe Ebay should not sit on the fence and ban Nazi items altogether. They already have an identical clock which has been listed for over a month No:396677889384 with the seller stating "all markings intact including the KM Adler".I would also add that my ad stated for sale only to UK buyer.

You mentioned your clock bore a swastika at the base of the KM Adler and you covered this up; I refer you your photo on post # 5. It is almost certainly this that had your listing removed as even covering up the swastika contravenes eBay policy. eBay's AI bot will have picked up the upper part of the KM Adler and will have identified what the total image is.
Your competitor does indicate in the description that the KM Adler is complete however his photographs appear to have been cleverly airbrushed to remove the image. This is probably why his remains as he has been more subtle in camouflaging the offending image.
You have both broken eBay's policy. I wouldn't recommend trying to relist on eBay but try an auction house that runs specialist militaria auctions; many do. I doubt you have incurred any sanction on your account at present as these removals are common, most being listed through ignorance, however, if you do relist after the warning it won't end well. If it makes you feel any better you could report your competitor's listing.

Yes,I agree. Thanks for the advice.
