Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I still cannot change back to classic view on ebay UK.

Can you change back to classic view?

I find the new view of the pages hard to navigate and I am thinking of leaving ebay for good if I cannot change back.

Can anyone help me change back to classic view on ebay UK.

Thank you.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I had a large ebay score (for a private seller) and had been a member since 2001..basically back in the day when it was actually good.

After being ripped off a few times I left for a few years, only returning during lockdown as other resources weren't available.

Im now moving house and have advertised a few items for the first time since returning. Sadly, ebay is even more horrible than before, so if/once my items sell, I'll just cancel the account again.

I know exactly where you're coming from - I joined in 2003 (on a different account to the one I'm posting on now) and ebay was both fun and, relatively, lucrative for a private seller like me who was doing it as an enjoyable hobby that generated a bit of 'pin' money to spend on fripperies and treats.  However, the ebay experience has steadily and consistently deteriorated (and the revenues being generated have correspondingly dropped also - so it's neither enjoyable, nor profitable) - and this is solely because of ebay corporate behaviour (to my mind, sellers haven't gotten more ruthless and buyers haven't gotten more demanding; so it's all on ebay).  Like yourself, after a time away, I picked it up again in lockdown as a means of generating a few pounds and something that might be enjoyable.  Alas, the experience is nothing like it was and I'll be walking away again as well.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I understand that ebay want everyone to be on the seller hub eventually.

It has been a nightmare this week, my pages changed then the change in how to get paid.

I think ebay users deserve better than all this change which is not for the good in my opinion. After all, it is us that generate the money for thsi company.

I find it difficult to cope with change. My enjoyment of ebay is in tatters.

I have messaged them and spoken to representative by phone and they do not seem to understand

the difficulty they are causing.

I have removed my items for sale. Very unhappy. Had a look at the new payment system and Ebay wants you to link your bank account to them!!! . Else you may be required to send bank statements. How to ruin your business ebay!

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I too have had problems with this new system. I feel that it should have continued as it was twenty years old or not. I used the paypal system to keep my e bay money from my savings , there by saying that it wasnt real money but internet money. Now it goes into the bank or somewhere not exactly sure if you know what I mean.

You can leave that god awful sellers page and move to a somwhat better start page, I did. Cannot find the stuff where by I kept tabs on when I could throw away my post office reciepts after the time limit was up, gone.  It seems that if we want to keep using this product we have to try and work out little wrinkles that can keep us sane. Until they stop those too.

About the receipts. Keep them for a month. After that buyers cannot come back with a problem so its safe to discard them then.

I used to throw them away when I got feedback but just recently I threw out the receipt after

positive feedback and the buyer said it had not been posted. I won the debate but it was a lesson learned. I also wish the old system had continued. I don't know where I am with things. The little icons were much simpler and as I have just said in another post, I will not be posting sold items until the money is in my account and not with ebay holding it telling me is's alright.  An item isn't sold until the money is in the hand.

All we can do is keep persevering and hope we can get used to it.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I have sold two items, there has been no payment from the buyer . Hes in a different country so I dont know what or when to  open a case. They say they will sort it ie "managed payments" Dont know where the money will go to or , as I say when , I should expect it. This has spoiled  my enjoyment of ebay & using it. I feel like a voice in the wilderness.  On the web page it says UK bank holiday monday so dont expect payments. EH this is the only site where you cannot get paid or pay for things on a bank holiday? Its stupid

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Have now sold three Items and have no idea where the cash will go or even if folks have paid. Paypal was much easier, and simpler to use. either I'm just unlucky to have two bad payers or folks havent a clue how to pay for thier items.

Keep a look out on your paypal account. I have just sold something and wondered where the payment was and it was in paypal.

I have phones many times about these changes.

I am told that whilst there are many who don't like it, there are many that do. They are also having may phone calls about it.

It is a waste of time although they always do remain polite.

Perhaps as a collective we may be able to change things back to something we all used to enjoy.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

I sold something last night and it didnt go to paypal. Mind what I think is VERY strange, ebay takes its fees from Papal. No waiting till hell freezes over for their money. Says it all.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Just an update. Last night I sold a kit, money did not go to paypal. Sold another today, same thing. Now Sold a third one and guess what ? It went to paypal. Now I am totally confused, two to bank , one to paypal. Perhaps its what the buyer PAYS with that says where the money goes. Who knows. Also have someone abroad who bought three kits ...Not paid a penny anywhere. Coincedence or totally lost about  how to pay?

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Not only have we got to contend with Covid 19 we have the new ebay managed payments to contend with. Over the weekend I sold a few kits. Got the message "buyer has paid message send items by Monday" Monday was a bank holiday so no post, posted items Tuesday , next day. Recieved message today , Wednessday , "your money will be paid in withing 0-4 days time"  Crazy we send items of even though we havent recieved payment. What on Earth was wrong with Pay pal? Could it be that e  bay saw a new way of ripping more cash from us by doing nothing for it? It seems the £1 max days are gone too. 80% off but still have to pay 30p for what ever. WHAT? If only there was something like e  bay you could switch to, Gumtree no good as its owned by ...you guessed it E bay! Now why do you pay on e bay and not Gumtree I wonder?

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

The thing I have yet to find an answer to....

eBay take 30 pence, but is that per item or transaction?

For example, with PayPal, if I sold 5 items to an individual and they paid all at the same time, the fee is based on the total amount, not each individual item. So, are eBay doing the same, because if it is per item we will lose more, not save.
I have to go onto managed payments by the end of May, so I am going to hang on to my current format until the last moment.

That would be per transaction not per item.

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Yes so the more you sell the more 30p they take. I sold  six items , six transactions, £1.80 for what? If they are taking it now is to to cover the cost of e bay managing our money? If so Forget it , I'll pay paypal & e bay myself. Get the cash straight away and no waiting. Goes where I want it not ebay wants it. As I keep saying CRAZY!

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Ebay are the big time P takers but crooks or not as long as we all carry on using them the more they will take.

I have move clothes to vinted and other things to Amazon and Gumtree etc.

Unless ebayers stand united and abandon ebay they will still be the market leader crooks and get away with it all the way to their own bank 💲💲💲💲!!!!

Re: Can you change back to classic view on ebay UK?

Gumtree is owned by e bay, not sure about the rest.

One thing I have noticed is that although I leave feedback no one leaves it for me. Since the change I  have had two lots of feedback and that is from fiolks who I have bought from. Nothing from the people who have bought stuff from me. No way to check when the time limt has passed and I can get rid of "proof of purchases" either

It may be me ,but there seems to be less stuff to buy or folks looking to buy on there now too.  Oh another thing whats happened to £1 to pay days? We now have a percentage off on certian days but still the 30p what ever fees. Gone from great to "Oh well " I used to look everyday & put stuff on frequently , now I never look to see if there are bidders or not. Sad really. Oh well.
