I kindly request advice and support from the community regarding a serious issue that resulted in my selling account being permanently restricted.
1. All my orders were dispatched on time, but Sri Lanka Post informed us that from the 2nd week of September, the service to the USA stopped.
Later I found out that USA Customs rejected outgoing parcels due to the new DDP tax issue, so the items were never sent out of Sri Lanka.
2. Buyers opened INR (Item Not Received) cases immediately without messaging me first. I was not given a chance to explain that the delay was due to the postal and customs problem.
3. I issued full refunds to all USA buyers, and also to buyers in Spain, Hungary, and Germany, even when some parcels were returned by customs. I did not deduct any postal fees—I refunded everyone in full.
4. I lost my products, postage fees, and finally my eBay account.
This has affected me badly as a small seller.
5. I submitted official documents from the Sri Lanka Post Postmaster General explaining the DDP service suspension and processing issues.
6. I also provided evidence for every INR case:
photos of returned parcels
tracking slips
proof of registration at Sri Lanka Post
7. Despite all this, eBay did not consider the situation.
They didn’t ask for clarification or acknowledge the postal/customs issue.
8. Now they are holding my funds for 190 days.
This is more than 6 months, and it’s very difficult as we still have to pay suppliers and manage stock.
Live chat support gave no real help—usually handled by offshore agents who don’t understand the full situation.
