used football socks - violation

I listed a pair of football socks. They are from a Scottish Premier league team & were part of a kit from the 90s. They are not worth much but they are rare & a sports fan somewhere might want them for a collection. The listing has been withdrawn by Ebay because they violate there used underwear policy. I understand they want to put a stop to fetish type sales but these are sport socks, not exactly anything kinky. It seems a bit heavy handed; anyone got any suggestions or thoughts?

There is no point in appealing and you shouldn't risk listing them again.

Ebay's rules are bluntly and stringently applied.

Yeah I can't see how you will be able to sell these on ebay probably best to list them elsewhere. It pays to be multi-platform these days. Maybe look to see if there are any specialist places for Scottish Premier League fans?

We have a similar issue with some charms.

TINY mobile phone charm.  As ebay thinks its a real TINY phone that a person sticks in their bottom and smuggles in to prison.

Pizza Cutter charm.  Ebay thinks this is an offensive weapon.

Manta Ray charms are on the endangered list.

Don't get me started on Amazon's ways!!!!!!!!!!

The only way to try and bypass according to ebay employees, is to reword the items.

With AI so prevalent, IF you try to relist using a different title / description, AI might find and ban you.

As others suggest, probably safest to sell elsewhere, unfortunately.

Pizza Cutter as Weapon

A pizza cutter can potentially be used as an offensive weapon, as evidenced by incidents where it has been employed in such a manner. For instance, in a court case from January 19, 2016, two men were accused of attempting to hijack a taxi using a pizza cutter during violent incidents in north Belfast.1 Additionally, discussions on Quora suggest that while a pizza cutter may not be a practical weapon for most situations due to its design, it can still be used effectively in certain circumstances.23

In video games, the concept of a pizza cutter as a weapon has gained popularity. In the game Bloodborne, the Whirligig Saw, which resembles a pizza cutter, is considered one of the best weapons due to its high damage output and versatility.5 Similarly, in Elden Ring, the Ghiza's Wheel, often referred to as the "Pizza Cutter" weapon, has gained fame for its effectiveness in stunning enemies and particularly for its use in defeating the boss Malenia.7

  • Whirligig Saw: A weapon in Bloodborne that closely resembles a pizza cutter and is highly regarded for its damage and effectiveness.5

  • Ghiza's Wheel: Known as the "Pizza Cutter" weapon in Elden Ring, it is celebrated for its stun capabilities and effectiveness against bosses like Malenia.7

These examples illustrate how a pizza cutter can be adapted into an offensive weapon in both real-world and virtual contexts.

What category did you list them under?

What was your exact listing title?

If clothing then they would get flagged up, if sports memorabilia then they shouldn't be.

Then eBay shouldn’t allow used sports socks to be sold…there’s a condition choice “used” and plenty of listings  under sporting goods/football/socks

but don’t relist them as others say

there will be somewhere else that people look for this kind of memorabilia

If you were to list this item under the category “sports memorabilia” and headed your item to read “ ? (Name the Premier Team) sports memorabilia” I feel theres a good chance it being accepted.

Your listing details would inform any potential buyer of what you are actually selling.

I am surprised that eBay failed to accept your initial listing …. Very petty of them.
