I would think there must be an 'advanced options' button hidden somewhere... Are you listing using a pc or mobile?

You should click on advanced options
but then again some days it’s there some days it’s not 🤷🏼see pics below
another way to get into custom postage is just list a “photograph” as the title and it will go into custom straight away , you can then change the title and category
note large letters aren’t included in the exemption eBay have said today

Yes, they have been making it more fiddly to 'switch to advanced options', because they don't want us to do that! Who knows how much longer it will be possible, or if they will just go ahead and 'update' all existing listings to Simple Delivery, ready or not...?

“note large letters aren’t included in the exemption eBay have said today”
Where is that mentioned please?

Where is the announcement from Ebay today that large letters are excluded from SD opt out?
Can you post a link to it please?

I'm afraid that eBay have changed the goalposts and large letters are now included in Simple Delivery:
Simple Delivery won’t be required for items that are letter-sized and £10 or under with a weight of 100g or less. Simple Delivery will be required for large letters.

Thank you.

Ugh. So I can't use my large letter stamps then. What a waste. Thank you for noticing the update!

Dammit. That's several items I'll have to take off and send to charity then. They are already practically impossible to sell with buyer protection, adding extra for SD will finish them off.

I had suspected this all along, as eBay were so reluctant to clarify the confusion.
Like many others, this puts a real dent in my occasionally used private account, where I sometimes sold football programmes, magazines, etc. This just won't be viable, until they at least do something practical about combined postage.

How are they going to police it
seeing as you can put whatever postage cost you want on in a custom postage listing
How will eBay know what you put through the letter box
lol

You did, and I can only apologise, but the mentors were told that eBay had confirmed that large letters were going to be excluded, so eBay did clarify at that point, only to change the goalposts literally overnight.

And that's me pulling about 250 listings. Charity shop next door will be pleased.
I can't pay £2.70 postage on a £2.99 LL item under 100g.
I still say they will be forced to backtrack in a few months...

It's such a shame that so many people jump in with 'facts' before eBay have actually made announcements.
We had a mentor start a thread after the new UA, saying that it said that SD was going to remain optional.
It didn't say that in the new UA at all, it simply had a link to the SD help page which, correctly at that time, said that you could opt out of SD. They also said, that although they agreed that page could be changed, they didn't think it likely eBay would. This (as far as we know) was wrong.
So please, whether you get this 'information' from a CS member, an eBay employee, wherever, maybe stop telling things as 'fact' until eBay have made the announcement.

I get where you're coming from but under current terms and conditions they can make changes without notice, so any "official announcement" could still be temporary and/or completely reversed.
They have put quick sand under our feet and called it a favour.

That was very gracious of you, something not seen often on these boards.
I would much rather have been wrong on this one.

I have set up my postage options to send my (when or if they sell) sold items by Royal Mail Standard letter up to 100g or for overseas, Royal Mail Standard Letter, Standard International Airmail.
Today (as I have been doing for several days since the 7th) checked my listings and they are still showing my 1st Class Standard Letter rate as the advertised postage method/rate.
I just hope this is what prospective Buyers are also seeing. Judging by my sales and selling metrics Buyers may not be seeing my postage rate and/or are put off with the BPF added to my low priced items.

I just want to follow on from my previous post in replying to the OP.
I have also, in my Selling Preferences, set up FREE P&P if the combined sales in a single transaction is £7.45p or more. This may or may not help my listings (at this time) being able to use my Custom Postage Method.
Any takers, does this help or not?
