This is the 2nd item I have had the same problem with. (The previous one I had to ask the buyer to cancel as after taking the item to the post office I was told they would not accept it as it was larger than prepaid label..!)

Just sold a pair of Dubarry boots ( cost £350 new) for £100. But the label is for standard postage only small parcel under 1kg...utterly useless! I need a tracked 48 option! for both value and medium size parcel over 2kg.

Both y items were originally listed with correct postage, but ebay has 'over-ruled' my postage and forced SD on me without me knowing, which I would not mind but the postage is wrong!? I am out 7-5 mon-fri at work so how can I call ebay to sort this mess out? where has the help chat/messaging service gone these days? I am afraid that if I cancel the sale it will affect my account.. bloo*y ebay NOT SIMPLE DELIVERY : (

Just to add, before anyone replies helpfully telling me to buy the correct postage myself and swallow the cost.... NO. Not doing that. If ebay cannot sort this I will have to ask the buyer to cancel this purchase just like the last one that SD messed up for me. SD IS JUST NOT WORKING!!!!

As long as ebay selected the postage (weight/size) band and it's under the absolute maximum stated below, the label is fine.

And the label will be Royal Mail tracked or Evri tracked, (unless anything has changed in the last 24 hours.)

There probably isn't much else you can do except cancel & relist. If you were given an Evri label, then SD must have enabled both Evri & RM when it 'took over' your listing, so you would have to make sure to exclude Evri from your courier options, if you want your buyer to buy a RM Tracked 48 label.

As others have said it doesn't matter if the label is for too small a parcel as e-Bay will still honour the price.  As for your Post Office refusing to accept a previous one they were in the wrong.  Have you got another local PO you can use or an RM Delivery Office where you can drop parcels?

Sorry but wrong. The previous parcel I took to PO and when it was on the scales she said that it would not let her print a label as the weight was over. my local PO IS helpful. To suggest RM will stand by an incorrect label chosen only by some ebay AI (dumb) program is NOT helpful or true.

These are valuable boots. I want certainty and not some flimsy valueless  ebay guarantee if they go missing in standard mail.

Well on the basis that I cant even get to speak to ebay these days, only a stupid bit of AI *bleep* bot, good luck with that empty promise if your items go missing but I wont risk it thanks!

My local PO is excellent, it is ebays greedy new postage theft scam that is at fault here.

It’s showing as £5.15 which is the eBay price for tracked 48  1-2kg medium parcel

ebay call it standard tracked as opposed to express tracked (tracked 24) 

your boots will be covered 

all simple delivery labels are tracked 

eta sorry was talking about your current boots for sale 

for the previous sale, if eBay Ai recommended the parcel size as small up to 1kg and it actually is medium  or more than 1kg it’s fine to send at no extra cost 

in recent weeks ebay had been playing around with parcel sizes and changing peoples listings so this is not surprising the label is for smaller than you’d listed it at

A Simple Delivery Royal Mail label, when printed will literally show (and generally be handled by RM as) Tracked 48 (or 24). As you or your buyer bought the SD postage from ebay, you deal with them and their conditions.

yes I listed postage at 5.15 but I noticed buyer paid 2.83+ vat ( roughly from memory) my PO will not accept the box as it is both way oversize and way overweight, I already asked yesterday.

update. I came home from work an hour early to talk to ebay for over 30mins, lady promised to send me a revised correct label....never happened! I have have nothing from ebay. I suggested the buyer request cancel which they have done and I have refunded.

UTTERLY RIDICULOUS WASTE OF EVERYONES TIME.

Let sellers book parcels themselves. SD is a total farce.
