How on earth do local post offices taking packages benefit in revenue from online market places if the public aren't posting through them.
Very simply ebay by forcing sellers to use Royal Mail increases the volume of packages flowing through the post office, the post office are paid for each parcel by Royal Mail - The Post office pay the local post master for each and every package they handle - thus increasing the income of the local post master.
Whether the Government owned Post Office passes a fair percentage of the increased revenue to the local post master is not the problem of ebay nor it's sellers - this is a matter for the post masters and the post office to resolve.
The counter sale of stamps has diminished since online buying and selling has increased - email and messaging has caused the demise of letters taking a huge amount from your local postmaster - essentially every person, business, seller and buyer online causes this problem not the platforms themselves.
An alternative view could be that by ebay forcing members to use RM - the post office as handler benefits - unlike business post online where RM collect and completely avoid the post office handling hence why it is cheaper for businesses online.
Banks are also closing branches for similar reasons - times are changing for everyone !
Blaming ebay for the post offices problems really !

I really don’t understand what you are arguing about. You are the one who brought up the Horizon scandal and you're the only one who has mentioned anything about it so far. I'm sure that we all agree that those responsible should be held accountable but it has absolutely nothing to do with eBay and Simple Delivery or the possible impact of Simple Delivery on Post Offices which is what is being discussed here, although even that is not what this thread is supposed to be about.
