"Verified Purchase" on feedback.

As per picture.

The words: "Verified Purchase" have now appeared on feedback.

I am guessing this is the work of some proud programmer who toiled all week to achieve this marvellous improvement.

I am imagining whooping and high fives all round the office when they finally came up with this.

Not sure of it's purpose. I mean what is an Un-verified purchase?

OK,   @1956glyn  this is an odd one,  but perhaps answered not sure if on this thread or on another,  but I cannot see Verified on any of your feedbacks.

However, I still cannot see it on mine,   though others can.

Someone did say once you can ' see' the magic words ' Verified' on your own feedback only Then,   can you see it on others.

This may well be the case,   but doesn't explain it's significance.

Marco's explanation in the weekly chat is worrying,   as it seems only ' Verified Feedback' in eBay's eyes carry any worth ?

I can see it on all my feedback and i can also see it on all of yours and on others.

I am wondering if it depends what device one uses as to whether its visable or not.   I only ever use a desktop pc and never the App for Ebay.

Oh me too,  a desktop all the way for me,  never understood apps and i Phone thingy browsers.  Children just cower when they see my ol' brick of a phone appearing in public !

As said before, feedback can only be left for purchases made on eBay, so why does it need to be “verified”?

So how does one leave feedback for a purchase not made on eBay?

Ah, now then. I looked at my other account which is usually my selling avcount. for which I use Edge. Yep. I can see it there an on other accounts. So does it depend which browser you use?

No, it seems to be ID related. I can see verifieds when I am signed in on this ID, but I can't see them when I'm signed in on my other ID, even though I am using the same PC etc.

Nope. I signed out and into my other ID and I could not see VP on anyone's feedback while on Chrome but when I changed to Edge I could see it. Vice versa with my Guinevere ID.

My head's hurting now, I've had it with this thread 🤣

Both Boots & Holland & Barratt use FB marked as verified... 

The ones that are not usually say - This review was collected as part of a promotion

I'm guessing that these are items given free to survey testers, or perhaps influencers.

Yes, I have this on mine too! Obviously something that's going to be rolled out in full at some point.

I wonder if it is anything to  do with feedback being left by buyers who don't pay, which would be an unverified purchase because they hadn't paid and therefore easily removed from the sellers feedback?

Or it might have something to do with cash on collection Vs money through the system which can be traced for Tax reasons?

So many  endless and perhaps pointless possibilities........

Buyer would still have to purchase through eBay for the feedback window to appear.

I found a 'positive' feedback left by a seller for a non-payer - it still showed as a verified purchase, even though there was no purchase!
