"Send offer"...just how long do these last nowadays?

Have been trying to update a few items this week but ebay have put a little padlock ("rolls eyes") next to most options which means I cannot alter anything?...these items were "offered" weeks and weeks ago..I thought the offers only used to last for a couple of days?..anyone know what ebay are upto this time?

Offers now last for 4 days, 96 hours, but not 'weeks and weeks'.

According to the e-commerce blog site that we're not allowed to name ebay "quietly" doubled the time on 20/9/24 from 48 hrours to 96 hours but failed to tell sellers they'd done so.

I gave up sending offers. Rather run a weekend sale for all to see rather than an eBay notification that might not get noticed.

They failed to tell buyers too, theelench.

I only noticed when I started receiving offers with 'offer ends in 96 hours' on them. At first I put it down to eBay stuffing up the code again as I also received a couple of 48-hour offers around the same time, but with hindsight I think they must have been rolling out the change.

It would have been nice if there'd been some sort of announcement but then again announcements aren't communicated too well on the main site so not many would have seen one anyway.

Well,have just tried revising an item that has definetley not been "offered" to anyone in weeks and i'm still getting the little padlock next to certain options on the item...?

That doesn't sound good, *maetrix* , but I regret to say that I don't have a solution. I'm not sure if anyone else can help so perhaps it'd be best to ask the Community Team. Allow me...

dave@ebay  Any chance you could help @*maetrix*  with the issue mentioned in Message #6? It seems that an item which had an offer sent out weeks ago cannot be revised because it is still padlocked. Why is it still locked and what needs to be done to 'unlock' the listing?
