As a private seller paying postage costs on all my listings I sometimes have two separate orders from the same buyer. Previously I would pay for and print a label for one, but include both in the parcel and mark the other as "dispatched". But now with Simple Delivery there is no option to mark the second item as dispatched. Is there a way around this so that Ebay does not think I have failed to send the second one?

Hi, I sold another coin last night, and the buyer's address was in the order details, & the option to mark as dispatched is in the 'orders' section as normal. This may be because it's a coin, as this category allows using your own postage..

eBay what is going on this is the second time within a month l have had problems due to these recent changes.
First its not being able to put in custom cost for postage the true price and now cant mark an item as dispatched if eBay doesn't address these issues and stop making things more complex than it should be then l will be dealing with your biggest competitor VINTED

When you purchase a simple Delivery label, it automatically marks and lists it as dispatched, there's no separate place for you to tick / mark as dispatched.

My situation is slightly different...
I have sold a vintage audio turntable which was listed using Simple Delivery. Just by coincidence, I am going to be in the buyer's home town in a few days, and would like to deliver it in person. This saves the very careful packing that would be required and removes the ever-present risk of courier damage! The buyer is happy to have a personal delivery, but how do I mark the item as despatched / delivered? I cannot see a way of doing this.

Ebay have just advised me of the following, which appears to solve my problem 😊
"In order to mark an item as dispatched, you need to click "get prepaid label" and it will get marked automatically. Since the label has been prepaid by buyer and it will remain unused, it will get refunded to him automatically after 40 days.
Regarding the item delivery, we can release your funds on time if your buyer will leave a positive feedback, but it cannot get marked as delivered if any label is not used.
Do not worry, since it will not affect your selling performance.
After 90 days, every items gets removed from a seller's account.
Even if he does not leave a feedback, you are going to get paid for it but after 14 days of the sale. With a feedback you will get paid 24 hours after the feedback. In order to release your funds, you should contact us when the feedback is left."

Since the label has been prepaid by buyer and it will remain unused, it will get refunded to him automatically after 40 days.
I somehow doubt that having buyers waiting for 40 days for a refund can be viewed as a positive selling point. ebay however will get to hold the funds for that period of time.
Is seller performance such a difficult thing these days, or is it just on new ebay process' ?

Try going into the Overview section (not Sold or Orders) under the Selling menu. The 'Mark as Dispatched' option should appear on the right hand side.

That worked for me, customer service is rubbish, what they told me did not work

Did you find the 'Mark as dispatched' option?

I had this problem recently - sold 2 items to the same buyer. I didn't see why I should have to cancel both sales, relist the items as a job lot and get the buyer to repurchase - what a palaver! - so I just generated the labels but only used one and sent both items in the same package. (I offer free delivery.) I then filled in the form to reclaim for the unused label, although none of the options actually included dispatching multiple orders. (eBay never make things easy, do they?) I managed to get round the problem of one item not being marked as Dispatched by changing one of the tracking numbers to match that on the used label. This worked fine. Both items showed as dispatched and delivered and I've just received feedback for both orders. (I asked the buyer if she could leave feedback for both orders in case eBay made a fuss about non-delivery and she was very co-operative.) Now I just have to wait and see if I get my refund after 14 days!

Hi nessxy, I just sold another coin this morning & the 'Mark as dispatched' option was available in the right-hand menu as per normal. The option to add tracking details was also available.
