As a private seller paying postage costs on all my listings I sometimes have two separate orders from the same buyer. Previously I would pay for and print a label for one, but include both in the parcel and mark the other as "dispatched". But now with Simple Delivery there is no option to mark the second item as dispatched. Is there a way around this so that Ebay does not think I have failed to send the second one?

This is what is currently happening:
I am a private seller who always lists post free.
Two separate orders are received from the same buyer.
Both fit easily in one parcel.
Since Simple Delivery introduced there is no longer an option to 'Mark as Dispatched' on second order.
So labels have to be purchased for both orders.
Ebay refund form completed for second (unused) label.
After three weeks or so I receive refund.
But here is the killer; Ebay now reinstates the second order on my system, marked in red as 'Dispatch Overdue' and entry cannot be removed. We are back to square one.
There must be a better way of dealing with this.

Hi Cartoholic, yes there IS a way around this! You can still access the 'Mark as dispatched' command from the 'Overview' sub-menu under the 'Sales' menu. From here you can mark as dispatched and add tracking info manually if you want to. Hope this helps!

Not so, you can mark as dispatched and add tracking info from within the 'Overview' sub-menu (under the 'Selling' menu)

No, it isn't, Simple Delivery can be used Worldwide

To be honest almost everything still works fine for me on my own account, apart from the fact that when listing, I have to choose the large letter option, even though I only use DL envelopes. The other issue when listing is that in auction format, you can't list anything over £19.99. If you put £20, Simple Delivery goes away. Basically, you can't list anything over £20 and use Royal Mail.
However, where my real problems lie is with the secondary account. So much doesn't work, it's like eBay doesn't understand the whole purpose of Team access. I'm trying to dispose of stuff for a third party, but don't want the takings flowing through my eBay account (for obvious tax reasons). However, to get round the (many) shortcomings, I have to get the secondary account owner to give me direct access so that I can do certain basic things. Giving me this access means I can see everything, including his bank account details . This is what doesn't work for secondary access:
Copying listings
Sending an invoice
Combining postage to send multiple items in one envelope
Marking items as dispatched
Adding a tracking number
Leaving feedback
...maybe other stuff too
It really is a crock of ****
I just got an eBay survey. My response was that eBay hates it's buyers. I've been on here since 1997

I meant "hates it's sellers"

No mention of this option on my system I'm afraid.
The latest advice I have from 'Customer Services' is to send both with the label for Order A and put that tracking number for Order A into the 'Add Note' box for Order B and this will automatically by picked up by Ebay. I am not convinced that will work.

So when you go to My eBay, aren't you given options to choose from, ie purchase history, selling, watch list, bids & offers etc? So if you choose the 'selling' option, under here you have a few choices like 'active', 'sold (or orders)', and 'overview'... Go to overview whilst you have a paid-for item ready to dispatch, and the option 'mark as dispatched' will appear. Also the option to manually add tracking data appears.

OK, I'll try this carefully next time I have a pair of orders from same buyer.
15-03-2026 3:56 PM
Great! As I say, don't look for it under 'sold' or 'orders', but under 'overview'.

I looked at this carefully for my latest double sale. Through 'Selling' and 'Overview' it shows the sale I want under the heading 'Dispatch Now'. I click on the dropdown next to the 'Get Postage Label' button, but the only four options that appear are 'View order details' 'View payment details' 'Cancel Order' and 'Message buyer'. Going through to the order details gives me further options, but there is no sign of the two you mention.

Hi, just wondering, are you doing this from a PC, or a phone? I always use my PC for all my eBay transactions, but if you are using a smartphone, you might have a different interface...

I use a laptop with Windows 11, and am registered with Ebay as a private seller.

Me too, laptop & PC with Windows 11! And I'm a private seller! Are you in the UK?
17-03-2026 9:07 AM
@jimbob036, yes, I see it exactly as you do on my primary account, but not on my secondary account (where I have team access granted by the account holder), where my experience matches @cartoholic. I use Win 10 on a desktop, and I use Chrome for my primary account and Firefox for my secondary (to stop them interfering with each other), but it doesn't always work. Sometimes when I'm on my primary account, there are certain tasks that automatically switch me into the secondary one, even though it's running in a different browser.
Does @cartoholic use a secondary account I wonder ?

It's got to be something like that! I'm just an ordinary private buyer & seller, so my account probably looks different to your secondary one.
17-03-2026 9:22 AM
I'm in the UK and only have one Ebay account.

It's a mystery then why you havn't got these options! Do you use Chrome, or some other browser?

Morning ! dave@ebay marco@ebay kat@ebay
Could you please look at the last few posts on this thread, where a member can see how to mark an item as dispatched with this option being there under More Actions, I'm presuming they're using their own postage and not Simple Delivery.
Another member cannot see this option.
Both are Private sellers.
I'm confused too, as I thought Private sellers, had to at least trigger an SD label to mark as dispatched, that a separate option for the seller, is not available, or is it ? 🤔
Thanks, it hopefully will clear this confusion for some posters.... and myself !

I think it depends on how you list them. I use Custom Postage not simple Delivery. To list with custom postage, there are several hoops you need to jump through
You have to choose "Large Letter" option - even if it isn't
You have to set a start price for the auction
Start price has to be under £20
I don't use eBay labels or Simple Delivery. It all works if you stick to the above. If you use Team Access, almost none of it works
