new payments for sellers

Hi there, well my buyer paid yesterday evening for an item and i looked in my e bay account and the new system showed the balance in there so i have just withdrawn it out of curiousity (will be stacking it up after this) just to see how long before it shows in my bank account.  Anyone else trying it out?

Re: new payments for sellers

I think it depends on your banks clearing process. Mine's always pretty immediate but some banks can take up to 2 days, which is why eBay mention that, in order to cover themselves.

Re: new payments for sellers

Sorry if i am not being very bright but how soon after your buyers paid did it show in the wallet?

I have tonight sold a few items and they have paid but no sign of a wallet on my account as yet.

Just to add i am still on the old pages and not the seller hub.

Re: new payments for sellers

See if this helps @1956glyn  to see how much money is available for you.

Click on an item you ' wish to buy / view'  and it will say on the listing on the right under Buy it Now....  ' Shop with your £** eBay balance.  Showing how much money you have currently available.

Re: new payments for sellers

Just had a sale on this "wonderful" new system and I'm not impressed. Money is in but not available to withdraw, but my gripe is with all the fuss you have to go through to get your money now.

Don't know about anyone else but I have seperate selling and buying accounts, so this new system is of no use to me even if I was to use it.

Re: new payments for sellers

Just tried that on a couple of listings and it says "learn more about purchasing with your Ebay balance".  Clicked on that and all it does is tell me about the new Ebay wallet.

I cannot see my balance or even find the wallet so presumably it takes a few hours or a day to appear after my first sales under the new scheme?

Re: new payments for sellers

Oh how odd,  I thought it would show the same for everyone,  mine shows I have the princely sum of £13 currently to spend in my eBay balance when I look at items.  I'm gonna take my time to think how to spend this wisely!  😊

Perhaps yours might show tomorrow, and does take a little time ?  Who knows,  learning curve for all of us!

Re: new payments for sellers

Well, I would but the option to withdraw is not showing... just the balance total  with an arrow.. but if click on the arrow it does not work and there is no " withdraw tab?"  Anyone know hwere it is - by the way do not use mobile, I use the computer.

Re: new payments for sellers

not sure, the e mail to say the buyer paid was timed 21.17 on the 15th but i did not look at my computer until later on in the morning of the 16th just before my first e mail at 11.  The money was in the wallet and i decided to see how long it would take so just simply clicked the pay  and by 1146 it was showing up in my bank account.   As you can see i have too much time on my hands!!!   Anyway i am happy with it so far.....

Re: new payments for sellers

I just went into my account and payments and it was showing there, click for payment and it was done.  Simple and easy (when it works of course).

Re: new payments for sellers

I use the computer as well, went into my account and then payments and it was there and showed available to withdraw which i did.  However i did get informed the previous evening that i had been paid and i only looked at the payments the next morning so it could be that the withdraw takes time to process.  All i know is that once i did withdraw it was in my bank within the hour.  I hopefully have a couple of items selling today so will just check again to see when the money (if they pay of course!!) is available to withdraw.

Re: new payments for sellers

Ok.....i just accessed my funds.

I had to click on the blue banner saying the way we are paid has changed.

That took me to a page really encouraging me to spend the funds on Ebay.

A few more clicks and eventually i found the withdraw button.   That was after i had to confirm our details etc etc

This to me seems very long winded and I think it would be much better to have a wallet type symbol on my all selling page and then when you click on it options should be given as to how you can use or withdraw the funds.

I think there will be quite a few questions on the boards asking how members can withdraw their money

Re: new payments for sellers

i just had to go into accounts, payments, click on the blue banner and it was there.  Only annoying part is having to sign in to the account (mainly because i have just changed my password) but i know that is for security.

Re: new payments for sellers

Thank you - there is apparently a glitch for safari users and the tech team are looking into it.. for now you have to use a different browser. Appreciate your response.

Re: new payments for sellers

Not too sure if there has been another update / change to this by eBay in December 2024 ?

I sold 3 items this week and every payment got stuck saying "Processing" and my eBay balance on the blue window then remained on ZERO for the whole day until 11.45 pm that same day when the processing had been completed by eBay.

For example on 8th December a buyer paid me £49.94 at 8:36 am in the morning, this then said "Processing to be completed on 8 Dec" - Yes !... Almost the 9th December bar 15 minutes ! 😞

Why have eBay suddenly added a processing stage ?, before this I had sold 1 other item the previous week and the money was available INSTANTLY in my eBay balance in the blue window and available to spend or transfer to my bank... Why did eBay decide to change this and add this sudden unnecessary processing stage  that now DELAYS my buyer's payments ???

I liked it the way it was in November when my buyer paid and the money was available instantly in the blue eBay balance screen for me to use or transfer to my bank - This was just like how PayPal's instant payments was and it was VERY CONVENIENT... Now it seems we have this awful delayed payments again by eBay 😞

Re: new payments for sellers

I don’t know if anyone has noticed but buyer pays, goes into eBay funds and sits there until the item is delivered and been processed for a further 48 hours by eBay.   The money in eBay funds has been paid to eBay by your buyer for your item.  You generate a label.  Funds now show a minus for the postage .  However before this transaction processes you get paid for an item you sold 10 days ago and it’s for example £25.  Ebay take the postage money from that £25 and give you what’s left, but the postage money for the item you have just sold is still in eBay funds which is not eBay’s money but the sellers.  Why is the postage money not deducted when the payment for that item is processed .  I was waiting on £65 and got £17 because all the postage money for items I had just sold and would not be cleared for another 7-10 days was taken out of my cleared funds.  This is just going to keep rolling that way if you continue to sell.  I am now buying my postage direct from Evri or Royal Mail.  That way I know that the postage I paid for belongs to the item I have been paid for .
