low offers

I always reply. And just say "no thank you".

It's not worth anymore effort than that.

It's entirely your choice. If it is insultingly low, just ignore them or offer your very best price.

Some buyers are just chancers.

Good Afternoon andy

If their offer is not insultingly low then ignore and block them. If it is just low then make a counter offer and if they don't accept that then put them on your blocked list.

I will engage IF the offer is reasonable. If it is just trying it on (90% OFF YOUR SELLING PRICE) I then just refuse it and send a message to say we are too far apart to get to a deal.

Hi, I always fill in the Allow offers, minimum offer when setting up the listing. I set it quite high really ... 10% off ish. That way I can just accept if it gets through the filter. I only do it as i read somewhere that adding best offer gets better views and better views = higher listing positions. Who knows!

When I get an offer first thing I do is check their Feedback left for Others.  You can learn a lot about some folks that way, especially if you need to add them to your blocked list.

Then I reply thanking them for their message and that I am sure if it was their item they wouldn't accept the offer!

If it's an obscenely low offer then I block cos it's 'wude'!

I generally just decline it. The insulting one I had this week was where a buyer offered an amount less 2x postage charge so it could be sent with 2 other stamps so the buyer informed me. The resulting offer price was approx £1 and it was already in a half price sale and I may as well just given it for free! I declined and said it doesn’t work like that as I have auto combine on multiple purchases anyway so there was no postage charge to deduct.

If I see something I like at a good buy it now price which has a best offer attached. I tend to make a low offer. I sometimes get lucky, the seller can decline or counter. I tend to accept the counter offer and even if my offer is declined then providing that I want the item and the price is good I tend to buy. Pointless blocking buyers just decline and it leaves the item available for them to purchase. Blocking them stops potential sales.
