My item has been damaged by eBay global shipping. It was sent intact (I have photos) but arrived crushed (I have photos). The buyer has naturally requested a refund but it was eBay who damaged the item. What should I do?

If the buyer has started a reurn case reply on it that according to ebays T&Cs you are not responsible for damage once the item has left the UK hub.

You need to be extremely careful how you handle this as you could be seriously out of pocket if you try to handle this yourself. Global is responsible for the refund, not you.
Your buyer needs to open a case for not as described 'damaged in transit' and you respond and you cite that according to Global T&C you, the seller, are not responsible for any loss or damage in transit once it has arrived at the Global hub.

Has your buyer selected the 'Arrived damaged' as the reason for the return?
If so, it's the GSP who need to make the refund here, not you, so simply reply in the case something like
'This item was sold via eBay's Global Shipping Programme, thus they are responsible for the item arriving damaged and for refunding the buyer, as per eBay policy.'

Many thanks to everyone who helped with this, I have some knowledge now on where I stand and ebay have informed me that my item is covered through their GBS protection - so all good.
