We’ve made some improvements to Buyer Protection to better support your sales. Starting today, we’re reducing the buyer fee to make your lower-priced items more appealing to buyers. From 6 Aug, you’ll also receive your funds within 24 hours of the buyer paying.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Yes, everyone got it.
I'm not really satisfied and can't see myself returning to selling like I was in 2023/2024. Taking away the payment delay is very welcome however, this felt like unnecessary punishment of good sellers.
The fees are still too high and Simple Delivery should always be optional.

Edited my post as I was replying not me yet, but I'm obviously late for this party invite ! 😐

they should start it today, why wait 3 weeks

Yes, I have. I also saw: "You may have heard that we recently introduced Simple Delivery, an easier and more secure delivery solution. As a reminder, from 6 Aug, any eligible live listings that aren’t yet using Simple Delivery will switch to this delivery option.", which is annoying. I was hoping they would leave existing listings alone, change it back to allowing you to choose if you wished to use SD or enabled the Custom option. It's not like they can say they can't 😥

who knows what will happen in the future, they have had to backtrack on the BPF and the wait for payment but those only affect E Bay. Simple delivery may take longer if they intend to backtrack on that as they have contracts with RM and EVRI. I went along with the other two but no way am i submitting to the SD requirement. If they do backtrack on that i may come back, if not i will stay with the slow selling site i am on now.

ok here we go again, change our prices one by one
£6.99, £7.99 , £9.99 now show up as £7.99 , £9.03 , £11.11 ,
now everything is inclusive in the listing price , i don't mind putting prices down to round them off but what happens with new listings , will they include the buyer fee or does ebay add it on,
in a nutshell we cannot control if our listings end in the good old tradition of 0.99
any idea what happens next?

They must've lost a lot of sellers over the payment delays. This is a bit of good news as ebay have listened to the sellers for once. Instant payments is great and something I mentioned in my long rant over this situation. Nice to see it has been resolved quicker than expected.

I was waiting on this backpedal by Ebay. Seems they have lost a whole heap of sellers due to their "fixing" what wasn't broken and breaking even more what needed fixing....way to go ebay!

In manage active listings , if it shows for £12.99
when you go to the page to purchase it , it comes up as £14.23
if i try to round it off to say £12.99 i have to list it at around £10.45 and still will not be able to guess if i have calculated right for it to end at £12.99
i don't mind paying the buyer fee as my listings are free, i have always been in favour of paying a listing fee and commission but let me decide the price my goods are selling for

we came close many times to shutting shop but we have a loyal base of customers
17-07-2025 11:32 AM
they have only done it because they were losing too many sellers/buyers, nothing to do with actual feedback, just £ in the till.

Not surprising as the same thing happened when Managed Payments came in — initially there was a long delay to payouts which was soon reduced.

"We’ve made some improvements..."
I doubt it. More like their recent changes are probably losing them money.

Use ukepc to calculate prices,no need to be guessing.

Just for everyone's information, there is a tool that has been designed for working out your fees and what you list your prices at, so no more guessing which can be found here - https://ukepc.com/
Thanks to peturning above for originally mentioning it, it is something I've used for a while now and find it very useful.

They lost tons of sellers due to that poxy idea of delayed payments

I never had a problem when managed payments came it, i was not looking forward to it and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was.
