I have been trading on eBay for 14 years but as I have said before it is a shadow of it's former self.
I know eBay brought in commission on postage to stop individual sellers charging £2 for an item and £20 postage but the policy they have have brought in to charge final fees on the total cost including postage is grossly unfair if you are a seller who only charge postage that it actually costs.
I recently sold a fishing rod at £35 but the postage was £18.95 as the tube is over 150cm therefore couldn't use Parcel force, the total final fee being £7.51, that wiped out my profit.
Some rods cost £25 to post.
I told eBay why don't you offer postage for every item that is sold which can be posted on eBay so you know the postage charged is correct, as they do not offer postage for fishing rods.
Even if you use their postage labels for items they do offer postage on they still charge a final fee on the the total fee which is a total disgrace.
I can't absorb any more of their extortion on fees so it has finished my fishing rod business.
eBay needs to understand their business sellers need to make a profit and are not just there to fund their own business.
Disposable income is very tight and eBay has made it a lot worse.

On Sellers Business account - eBay should not charge fees on the actual postage price if the postage label is purchased via eBay. (as I'm sure Bay as worked out a deal for themselves with the Couriers).

I sell in one if the categories with 14.9% plus VAT fees. So a fraction under 18% in fees.
So I pay higher fees on the exact same postage as sellers selling in other categories.
Frankly, I've never understood, nor been given any explanation, why there are such vast differences in fees for different categories.
