I am thinking eBay as a selling platform is dead since the seller protection was added ? I wonder if eBay have notice the decline in sellers since new rules started . In my 20 years of selling on eBay Ive never seen it like this
I have 20 watchers on my account , most of them are still selling but their sales have fallen to almost to nothing over the last 2 months and a few sellers have gone from the platform , its like all the buyers have gone
I wonder if eBay have notice the fall in sales or do they really care anymore
Is eBay a sicking ship and now doomed ?

What I hate the most is having to wait for your money two days after it has been delivered. Forced to use tracked 24 or special delivery if you want your money three or four days later.

I won't be part of their temporary loan facility !
If they do an about turn, SD and BPF out the window - maybe...

I totally agree with you, I have had to fight tooth and nail to get earnings from a sale, the buyer selected the wrong postage offered to him and royal mail refused to deliver the item. I had communication with the buyer who then started a case against me as the item had not been delivered... eBay instantly took the buyers side and refused me the payment even though I phoned eBay to clarify I had no control over the postage as a seller. It wasn't until the buyer made veiled threats through eBay's messaging that I decided to recontact eBay. I informed eBay if they didn't look into the case again I would be contacting the police and trading standards. Funny old thing, the following day the funds from my sale were back in my eBay balance and available for immediate withdrawal into my bank account, I now note the postal choice although provided by eBay will be reverting back to sellers choice and not the buyers in the near future, I am keeping my eBay activity to the bare minimum till eBay start to get things in some sort of order.

Gone are the days of selling on ebay mate & i thought it was bad when paypal used to hold our money.
They never ever back the seller, now it's there simple delivery which we have to abide to otherwise we will get told off like a naughty school kid!! & now the HMRC warnings. ive got loads of my own stuff I wanted to sell which I bought new and paid tax on!!!!!... so now ebay & HMRC have joined forces it's not possable .....it's stress after stress.
THE LIST IS ENDLESS OF WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE EBAY ARE.
(no doubt they will restrict my account for being honest)

I think its the buyers protection which has now killed off eBay , the funny thing is eBay don`t really care anymore , if you think the negative comments are bad on here you should read the comments of social media they are getting ripped to bits , never seen it this bad in all my 20 years on eBay

Even worse if buyer decides to rearrange delivery for another day or two or they are not in which case holds up you as a seller getting paid. The two days to your getting paid time doesn't start ticking until the item is delivered. And that assumes postie didn't forget to scan the tracking.
Just annoying. What is the point of rushing to the post office to drop off parcels so they are delivered next day so you get paid as quick as possible if flipping buyer isn't in to receive the parcel/s?
Just as well I am not flipping desperate for the money.

'I think its the buyers protection which has now killed off eBay'

From the buyer's point of view, possibly yes.
From the private selling point of view, I think S.D. is the fatal blow.
(Lots of private sellers on here have gritted their teeth and decided they can live with the BPF and payment holds. But S.D. is the final nail. And now, watching the roll out of the crazy S.D. train-crash, those sellers feel even more convinced that getting off the train now is a good idea...)
But: we're all speaking from the view of people who are 'invested' in ebay and care about how it affects us.
What we really need is the opinions of some random uninterested buyers and ask them if ebay is a great place to buy, did they like it, did they understand how it worked and will they be back?

I use Ebay infrequently (thank the Lord). What I've noticed is not so much the lack of traffic but the amount people are willing to pay. I get sent products by my clients on account of my contribution, but I don't use the products so I sell them. A couple of years ago I'd auction on Ebay a product that retailed at (say) £230 and get £215 for it. Now It's more likely to be £180. It doesn't bother me much as it's all profit, but I'm glad I don't run a business on here because it would not longer be viable.

My main issue with this has been all my items going from 9.99 to 11.11 when was the last time anybody purchased anything for 11.11? Come on, just take the fee out of the sale and leave the listed price alone!
Haven't uploaded any new items because it requires too much math and the future is supposed to be more convenient.
Not to mention any items valued 10 or lower is an automatic 10% loss now because of the new fee structure.

Yup buyers seem not interested anymore.
actually had an order this morning ! They requested to cancel 10 mins later. This very rarely happens with me , but hey ho never mind . Busy elsewhere so meh to eBay right now.
no actual buyers makes deciding to pause eBay selling ( and buying ) a very very easy choice lol

Hi a lot of us sellers closed there Seiier accounts in February so the decline started ,there are other ways to sell out there without all the problems of ebay.all its got is the name and that is falling away, there are lots of rumours re ebays financial situations also one being it is looking to franchise the uk operation .ect ect . they also seem to be allowing the chinese to flood the markets with fake or copied items so what chance does the local sellers have, non

They have screwed themselves over by trying to screw over their users. Sellers theres no fee now - oh but you now only get 300 free listings not 1000. Oh so instead of now getting 30p a listing over 1000 free - you now charge (via the buyer) 75p for EVERY listing plus 4% fees. Yep that doing the users a favour isnt it.
Protection - from what? We now HAVE to use Tracked methods (ensuring people who might want to buy a cheap item now pay a minimum of 2.70 for postage instead of 85p) so Royal Mail or couriers protect us with the postage. When you try and get Ebay to help with ANYTHING they pass the buck. Tracking shows an item I sent was delieverd, it has a delivery photo handing it through the open door - the door matches the Googlemap house that it should go to, they claimed it never arrived - 100% proof it did - ebay refunded the item fully from my money - over £100, even though I have supported delivery proof - yes that BUYER protection, free goods and your money back. Wheres the sellers protection. They force me to use a courier which I dont have in my village, so I have to get a bus both ways to another village and expect postage within 2 days - that costs me £5 a trip and i cant do it once a week as they will reduce my selelr profile if i dont post quick. *bleep* are they doing? Maybe they are like Starmer and Trump they just want to ruin what was once good.
They are letting foreign buyers bid, even though CHAT "help" says my settings all EXCLUDE non uk, so Im left with no GSP and just all down to me. They are now offering LOANS via messages, not only do they hold our money for days and days, gaining millions in interest in their bank, they now want to indebtted me with loans. They are now a disgrace.
