eBAY SALES NOW AND BEFORE

Reading recent and current postings on this forum, I note so many experienced private and business sellers reporting their sales are at an all time low. Alarmingly some of these sellers have been with eBay several years … 10, 15, 20 years plus. 
Being a casual and small occasional seller I have little to compare.

Why the decline ??

You have been on ebay 18 years and made almost 7,000 sales.  Hardly small and occasional.

There are many threads already where the possible reasons for declining sales are discussed.

There are two threads on SC, both started at the beginning of FEB.  Unfortunately they have dropped down to pages 5 and 6

On the BSB there is one thread about lack of sales in 2024 generally on page 1 along with another specifically about May.  With a third , about lack of sales in March.

So this thread could be seen as May's chapter about falling sales for SC.

If the OP had added to any of this year's threads they would have brought it back to page 1.

They even refer to other threads so presumably read them before posting another.

Have no idea about sales now and before but have learnt there's a market for genuine old rusty keys!

Who'd thought.... aways will be raiding the junk draw tomorrow and if there's any in there I'll be leaving em out for the rain 👍

They could indeed.

But why fly in the face of tradition ?   It's become the norm for both boards to have their own "Sales Dead in (add month) Thread.

Rusty keys can be easily cleaned to make them presentable for craft projects, home decor etc.

Some collectors do retain them in a rusty condition.

Some keys can be dated well over 100 years of age.
