Any past sales would be relevant information but that's not to say you should set your prices solely on what things have previously sold for as it's worth considering what other listings, if any, are currently available.

If you have a book in nice condition and are willing to take photos to show that then you might attract buyers who don't want to take the risk of trusting the graded condition on an unseen book. Even how you package it to avoid damage might be a point of differentiation if you mention it in the description.

There are times when I have paid more for a book where I can see it has been looked after.

When buying unseen from WoB then yes it's cheap but half the time I am disappointed by condition especially with those sellers who just put it in a thin plastic bag to get knocked around.

I agree. Ive been bitterly disappointed in some of my WoB purchases. And Ive been downright furious about some as Ive been sent books in worse condition than those Ive traded with WoB when they’ve told me that Ive sent some in a too worn condition. What I sent them have been in a far better condition than those they have sent out to me so much so that I complained one time and got a refund on those poor condition purchases. Now I dont buy from them. I pay more for a well photographed book that will be the one sent to me.  I have to be a bit strict with my book purchases these days as I have waaaay too many so Im looking to buy in a condition I can pass on. I dont sell all my unwanted books, some I donate, particularly cookbooks as those are in demand by local womens refuge so all my unwanted ones go there. I like to pass on in a half decent condition. Others go to the local hospitals for patients to read so I don’t want moth eaten books.
