Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

And that is why I’ve pulled listings and stopped with eBay.
dictating what delivery service I use is a NO from me. RM is a 2 min walk and I send everything tracked 48.
i won’t be entertaining a car journey to some random shop for bloody yodel or evri

Currently you can opt out but the CEO is on record saying he wants it mandatory before the end of Q1. Weeks away ...
They've done a recent update to it too, where sellers can set preferences but if eBay/their AI system decides to do it a different way that will still happen. They left a breakout clause for themselves that way.
& off memory they can now update terms and conditions every 15 days now, down from 30 so they still have 2 more chances to unleash it on us.

He's now on record saying he wants it mandatory before the end of Q2!

Yes, I've seen. We kind of posted the same kind of thing on "valued's" new thread. I think I was 1 above you.

Well (fingers crossed) so far releasing our funds after 2 days appears to be working 🙂 We can live with that.
Simple delivery, however, once mandatory for us will be a game changer if it works as we suspect. That will be the end of Ebay for us.

Was that said as part of the latest quarter's financial report? I was looking for a new thread about ebay's figures yesterday but with the time difference perhaps we only see them today?
If so, where did you see them?

It was reported by a member today here on the forum, it was very informative, I will try and find it for you.

Thanks, I've looked at SC, the BSB and even the blog we can't name. But didn't see any mention of the results yet.

Found it. Don't know how I missed that ! Thanks again.

What's the problem? Simple delivery will eventually, and ultimately, be responsible for when 'funds are available for payout' to private sellers. This will have a much greater impact to private sellers than fund holding alone.

You obviously didn't see eBay's CEO announcement to investors yesterday. It included:
"We will continue to ramp Managed Shipping throughout Q1 as we add features and fine tune the program and plan to begin mandating it for UK C2C sellers during Q2." - the key word being mandating. You will not have the choice as a private seller; something I disagree with but eBay make the rules and seem determined to push through.
It was also stated that a free postage option would be made available however it was intimated that it would be by eBay's preferred carriers and the postage would be "automatically deducted from sellers' earnings".

Well if private sellers are not selling then there are no earnings to be automatically deducted from!
It is a huge mess to say the least.
