Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

the past 10 years or at least since eve took over as CEO of ebay.co.uk
the goal posts have defo been moved quite a few times
all the ebay listings are defo in favor of the big guns in china
even if i search for any of my items they dont show up anywhere above any chinese seller
the chinese sellers also have warehouses based in the uk they sell from
after all it only takes one of their 1000s of relitives to say yes we have a garage you can stock stuff in send it over ill get one of my kids to pack it up for you
whenever i buy from ebay
i ALWAYS look for contact details
9 out of 10 times the contact details are based in china
i am a business seller i sell new stuff that i purchase wholesale in the uk
the chinese also sell the same products as me also shipped from the uk
just they sell for less than what i can purchase it for in the first place
i have to sell more expensive because i personally cannot live on a bag of rice a week
You are a business seller so this won't affect you will it? As you are being paid as normal 👍

An item I sold on the 14th Feb that was sent to the GSP address arriving on 19th Feb is still showing as despatched not delivered. I would still be waiting for the money if I had not contacted ebay chat on 20th Feb pointing out my money was due in my balance on 21st. They told me they would pay it within a few hours which they kept to so I got it a day early.

The new ebay concession that funds will be released if positive feedback is received, is it up to £10 including the ebay fee and postage? Or up to a £10 sale not including the fee and postage?
And, I'm using Royal Mail parcel for items up to £20 value. I don't include the postage fee itself in the £20 value. Do I need to consider ebays new fee in the £20 value?

It may be worth running numbers on that. Last I saw it actually made the overall transaction more expensive including postage in the total. They pay a percentage on everything then. Off memory they don't charge BPF directly on separate post charges.

to use post free to "attract more buyers" and then penalise us for it.

That's it in a nutshell. And under simple delivery, I'm not sure that you even get the option of "free" postage. eBay is just not worth it now.

I charge the postage separately. So a £10 sale plus their fee and separate postage, is that classed as a £10 sale to be available in balance after positive feedback is received?

Yes, it is, if you list the postage separately, and the item price shows £10, it qualifies for the new ruling. That is, if feedback is received, then the payout is released sooner.

I noticed while listing they also suggest that to get complete seller protection buy the postage label through ebay. So our seller protection is incomplete if buying a Royal Mail label from Royal Mail, or that is the hint they are suggesting.
Sorry, this is meant to be a general reply.

Tracking is tracking wherever the postage is bought, if it shows delivery then your payout is released 2 days after the delivery date.
Be aware though, that before the end of March we are told for Private Sellers, Simple Delivery will be mandatory. Then, postage will have to be purchased from eBay.
Read about Simple Delivery here:

Well sellers never have complete protection regardless. So they are earning money for doing exactly the same stuff that they used to do.
That's the only "real" difference.

I am biting my tongue! What on earth is eBay up to? Surely buying a label directly from Royal Mail is as safe as it's going to get. I have always bought RM labels on the RM website and don't intend to change now.

You may have to, if you wish to continue selling as a Private seller. That is , you'll have to buy RM directly from eBay if Simple Delivery does become, and it's looking more than likely, mandatory for Private sellers.
I also have never bought postage from eBay, preferring to buy from my little village Post Office run by the bestest couple, hate having the thought of buying pre paid labels not from the PO, and for them to just earn a few pence for handling the item.

I've already decided to stop selling on eBay - I still have a few items up, now, but I shall be taking them down in the next few weeks. I was hanging around to see how it went, but the more I see of it the less I like it. End of an era.

Yes I am clued up on their plans. But for them to hint that we are not getting 'complete' seller protection with externally bought postage is wrong of them.

Again, this is down to eBay treating private sellers as untrustworthy regardless of how long they have been on eBay and how good their record is. It's insulting.
