Literally was sent on time with full tracking before the weekend. Free postage but customer wants now and can't even be bothered to check the tracking on the website.

What sort of genius takes the day off for a parcel when they don't know what day it's coming? More likely they're at home every day and writing stuff like that gives them something to get up for. Sadly they are everywhere... I had one chancer recently trying to gouge for a partial refund on the basis of something that was clearly visible in the listing photos. I told him to return it for a full refund and, surprise, surprise, I never heard from him again.
Such a pity you can't name and shame on here, definitely one for the block list anyway.

Yep, there's always one ( 2, 3, 4 !) that we as sellers will come across.
All you can do is to apologise , Yep I know through gritted teeth, explaining the item was sent on time with tracking but it was Royal Mail / courier used who has let you both down.
Too late to cancel as it is on its way, but just to appease them say you will accept a return if on receipt it's not wanted anymore.
Doubt they'll then return for a refund, but the above shows it's all our of your hands once posted, and you are being as helpful as you can in the situation.

Without knowing the exact circumstances of that order I can't be sure but eBay have a nasty habit of miss selling delivery times.
When I was selling all my listings had a 5 working day turnaround on them. I only used Royal Mail Tracked 48. eBay knew all this but were still sending customers delivery times starting 2 days from payment.
I used to screenshot the official dispatch times from my order page to them to cover myself.

I have till the 14th for it to arrive before ill need to refund. I didnt have a car for past week so stupidly used inpost as was easier to get to and their tracking is frustrating. Tells u absolutely nothing. Normally i'd refund but this one has really angered me considering he purchased just before the weekend.

This is what riled me! it's not even being sent Royal Mail so waiting on the postman is truly ridiculous.

Some people do just like being demanding / obnoxious, but ebay gives them the opportunity to be that way by lying to them.
My ads. all told the buyer that I will post within 2 days of payment, send RM 2nd Class (2 - 3 days delivery estimate). Yet ebay consistently told them to expect delivery the day after payment or the day after.
The first totally impossible, the second possible but unlikely. After those 2 days, when the delivery is very likely to arrive, ebay designates it as 'late' although it is within my stated delivery window.
It's just one reason why I don't sell on ebay any more.

Thankfully this might end up being a chance for me to be the smuggest i've been in a while.

People in general seem to be getting ruder & more impatient... & too used to getting their own way...
Some buyers seem to think it's fine to send these very peremptory, 'where's my item?' messages, often when dealing with small sellers, who are just ordinary people, not a branch of M&S!
It's the same with buyers who return clothing, saying, 'didn't fit'. No 'please may I return?' and often no 'thank you for the refund', either...😠

It was delivered today. Thing is, i'm used to selling small items like keyrings etc so refunding is no issue when they moan. Now i'm starting to sell more expensive items, I'm not doing it. I'll risk the bad feedback.

On another platform, a buyer ordered 1m of ribbon in each of two two colours.
She has complained that one length of ribbon is longer than the other. She's even gone to the trouble of sending me an image of the two lengths laid out on a table. She's not disputing that either length is less than 1m - just complaining that they're not both the same length.
Does the idiot not own a pair of scissors?
I find it very, very, difficult to send a reasonably polite reply to buyers like this.
Unfortunately, on that platform, I can't block buyers. eBay's BBL is one of the few things I like about eBay.

Oh that is a good one! Have to wonder what planet some people are living on...
'Does the idiot not own a pair of scissors?'
Perhaps they aren't allowed scissors... would've had to chew them to the right length...

Perhaps they aren't allowed scissors...
Hadn't thought of that - but surely they could have asked nurse to cut them to an even length?

When I opened ny business accounts in 2016 I would get one or two self entitled/impatient buyers a year. Over the past two and a half to three years it become a raging torrent of semi-literate, borderline abuse.
eBay don't help matters with their fictional delivery estimtes, but that's not the root cause. Self entitled snowflakes are the real issue here.
So glad I no longer have to put up with this rubbish.
